Background[edit]
Born Zubayidamu Yanur Ayyusuiz, Zubayr was the youngest son of Lugalszargus, the greatest Shahanshah in Sargonian history. Despite being physically weaker than his sister, the young Zubayr was known for his bravery and military exploits since his youth, eventually becoming the general of Lugalszargus' garrison, protecting him in countless battles. Most notably, during his "visit" to Shahr-Cheshmeh, the "City of Springs," as a retaliation for its Padishah's actions at defying Lugalszargus' authority. Zubayr decapitated the Padishah and threw his head to the springs, and the city was later destroyed by the chained slaves who revolted against the nobility.[1]
However, not only he felt dissatisfied with his own efforts, but also concerned about Lugalszargus, as he became more and more relentless in battle ever since the Khagan's Nightzmoran horde arrived to Sargon, even challenging him to a fight.[2][3] In the Terran year 15, Zubayr was part of Lugalszargus' army that marched towards the Foehn Hotlands to fight the "demonic" forces there. Before his disappearance, Lugalszargus shared with him the exact location of his treasure trove, located beneath modern day Menat-Ha'mait and ordered him to give all of his fortunes to the Nightzmoras once they arrived. Problem was that this information could've easily spell trouble, even attracting his half brother's attention, who just recently ascended to the throne. In the aftermath of the campaign, the injured Zubayr willingly decided to become a Zhayedan in order to fulfill his father's wish; to protect the treasure trove no matter what it takes, waiting for His majesty to return. After helping his brother in quelling the rebellions against his rule, and biding farewell to his sister, Zubayr asked the craftsmen from Szubat-Arsalan to rebuild his body and store his consciousness into five special gems.[4][5]
For centuries, Zubayr remained vigilant at the doors of the treasure trove, waiting patiently for a visitor that never came. As time passed, the legend of the Shahanshah's treasury attracted many craftsmen and treasure hunters to settle down in Menat-Ha'mait. Three centuries ago, the gathered armies of a Padishah and various Lords Ameer found the village. They demanded the villagers to led them to the treasure trove, otherwise those who didn't cooperate will have their hands amputated. An old craftsman who is the ancestor of Lazvar accepted to lead the way, having already lost his hands. However, the soldiers would find themselves in front of Zubayr. Although he was defeated, they couldn't open the trove's gate without his Arts. Enraged, the Padishah's army cut open and salvaged all of Zubayr's gems. The craftsman's son attempted to repair Zubayr's body, but it was in vain. Years later, he buried Zubayr's body and settled a gem exchange bazaar.[4]
A thousand years later, Zubayr's body was found in the Fourth Necropolis Complex at the outskirts of Menat-Ha'mait and sent to the Varjavandabad Museum, which became part of the Unsung Generals from the Shah's Era anniversary exhibition held to celebrate the Flood Festival. After being resurrected by Pepe, he decided to retrieve all of his lost gems and resume his duty.
