Adele Keller is an NPC in Arknights. She is a major supporting character in So Long, Adele.

Background

Keller was a geology student who originally lived in Siesta. While working on her thesis at a cafe, she met Katia & Magna Naumann, a pair of volcanologists who were planning to research Siesta's volcanoes. They quickly got along and the Naumanns invite Keller to climb Mount Siesta together.[1] The experience led her to dedicate her life to researching volcanoes at William University in Leithanien along with the Naumanns. The couple considered Keller to be their best friend, so much so that they named their daughter after Keller's first name, Adele.[2]

Keller was aware that the Naumanns were being pressured by a Leithanian Kurfüst to participate in a secret weapons project. She helped Katia do some follow-up liaison work with the military.[2] Before the Naumanns' expedition up Mount Unna, Keller stayed behind to hold back the Kurfürst's envoy so the survey can progress smoothly. However, the volcano suddenly erupted, resulting in the Naumanns' unexpected death. On November 1095, Keller was called to William University by the military to answer for her actions and wasn't able to attend her friends' funeral.[3] Keller felt guilty over the incident, believing that her actions inadverdently resulted in their deaths.

Afterwards, Keller decided to stop researching volcanoes altogether and concealed the related weapons research documents.[2] In 1098, after receiving an invitation from Herman Doykos, Keller returned to Siesta to establish the Volcano Museum of Siesta. She hopes that the museum will preserve Siesta's hopes and memories as well as showcase the accomplishments of volcanologists. Among the things she displayed was Magna's protective coat.[4]
