Clementia is an NPC in Arknights. She is a supporting character in Path of Life.

Background[edit]

Patient, yet ambitious and arrogant, Clementia is the technology consul of the Institute of Societal and Administrative Supervision and the Waterway Program's Chief Designer of Warfare.[1] She was the first to make official contact with Iberia and subsequently invited its envoys to Milliarium as part of the Waterway Program.

Clementia was once a soldier of the Aegirian Legions, who earned a reputation for executing many Church of the Deep cultists during her years of service. [2]

Story[edit]

Path of Life[edit]

Clementia invited the Iberian envoys to the city of Milliarium as part of the Waterway Program, acknowledging Iberia's efforts in staving off the Seaborn invasion on land.[1] She also welcomed the return of the Abyssal Hunters, who were long presumed to be dead, back to Aegir. Clementia brought Gladiia, Specter, and Skadi to the Sophontheatrum for their tribunal, where the Abyssal Hunters were evaluated, while also sharing critical information about the hunters and strategies to combat the ever-evolving Seaborn[3] At the conclusion of the tribunal, it was determined that Gladiia, Specter, and Skadi posed no threat to Aegirians, while Ulpianus was ordered to be apprehended due to his increasingly uncooperative behavior.[4]

As the Waterway Program neared its culmination, Clementia ordered the Abyssal Hunters to participate in a final mission to open the last pathway, Nest 37, despite their recent return home.[5] Their objective was to infiltrate Nest 37 and place a homing beacon, allowing the Class IV Weapon to target and eradicate the Seaborn within. However, Clementia was unaware that cultists from the Church of the Deep had already tampered with the Class IV Weapon until the Doctor informed her.[6] She immediately ordered an investigation, which revealed that Blandus was part of the Church of the Deep and had modified the weapon to suppress the Seaborn's hostility toward humanity rather than destroy the nest.

Despite her orders to shut down the Class IV Weapon, it was too late. Blandus's intended effect failed, and instead, the weapon revealed the city's location, triggering a Seaborn invasion. While evacuation efforts began swiftly, the Seaborn managed to breach Milliarium's communication system, rendering broadcasts across the city impossible. While she was evacuating with Kal'tsit and Doctor, they encountered an unusually-shaped Seaborn hijacking the Sophontheatrum's terminal.[7] After a tense exchange, she severed the connection to the terminal, restoring city-wide communications. Clementia ordered the activation of Milliarium's force field and deployed sea patrols to prevent further Seaborn incursions onto land.

Following the end of Seaborn invasion, she was seen discussing the "failure" of Waterway Program with Horatia.[8]
