Hyman
Hyman is an NPC in Arknights. She is a supporting character in Hortus de Escapismo.
Background[edit]
Little is known about Hyman before she came to Sanctilaminium Ambrosii. She helped hunted for food to provide for the monastery's inhabitants. At some point, she secretly brought Erendel and Estara with her, providing them with shelter and sharing her portion of meals.[1] In turn, the two children consider her their new mother. She's also currently the first and currently only known case of a Sarkaz mutating into a Seaborn.

Hortus de Escapismo[edit]
Approximately one day before the incident, Hyman was turned into a Seaborn by Bishop Aulus.[2] At first, she was incapable of speech and incredibly hostile.[3] She was chased by Lemuen to the Sarkaz's residential area, heading towards her old house. Upon finding her children sleeping there, it appeared as though she was going to devour them, but she instead let the kids hug her tail. Federico discovered her and was prepared to shoot her on the spot, but Gerald stopped him, saying that Erendel and Estara are still hopeful that Federico would help find their mother. Although there was no guarantee how long Hyman would remain sane, Federico allowed Hyman to accompany her kids.[1]
After the incident, Hyman leaves with Bishop Aulus once she is assured that her Erendel and Estara would be cared for when they reach Laterano. She leaves the two children a handmade blanket with a Lateran pattern. Although she still cares for them, she no longer considers them "kin," having been influenced by the Seaborn hivemind.[4]
