Character voices

Character voices (CVs), better known as voice actors (VAs), are people who provided their voice talent for characters in audiovisual media.

Like many other anime-styled mobile gacha games, Arknights feature CVs who voiced the dialogues of Operators, originally in Japanese only but later expanded to include the native languages of every Arknights servers and even the languages representing the characters' country of origin later on; the non-Japanese CVs are added over time.

Players can switch between individual Operator's dialogue languages in the respective Operator's Profile menu or through the Customize Voice menu in Settings. The default language can be chosen between Japanese, English, Mandarin Chinese, and Korean on first starting the game or through the Batch Setting option in Settings. If the selected default language is unavailable for a specific Operator, the Operator will use an available language, starting from Japanese (or none, in the case of Terra Research Commission, who has no voice actor listed).

• Jesse Grimm and Lena Tiemann are the first CVs to voice a character in more than one language, with both voicing Lessing and Viviana, respectively, in English and German.
• Yo Taichi is the very first voice actor to record her lines in the game. The recording studio, Aegir, also confirmed that Deepcolor is the first operator to have her lines recorded.
• With the exception of Lee Sae-ah and most of the Chinese cast, CVs would voice at most three Operators (not counting alternates).
  • Chen Yanyi and Zi Mao/Kousou Mao currently tie for the most individual Operators voiced, with six each (the former voices Blue Poison, Crownslayer, Fang, Lappland, Popukar, and Saria, while the latter voices Ansel, Ceobe, Dorothy, Erato, Manticore, and Mayer).
  • If alternates are counted, Chen Yanyi holds the record for the most Operators voiced, with eight (apart from the above six, she also voices Fang the Fire-Sharpened and Lappland the Decadenza).
• From Guide Ahead onwards, newly introduced Operators in the Global server come with English and Korean voicelines with the exception of Episode 10: Shatterpoint (Chestnut and Rockrock), Stultifera Navis (Windflit), It's Been A While (Luo Xiaohei), and Il Siracusano/Mizuki & Caerula Arbor (Highmore, Qanipalaat, Quartz, and Tulip).
  • Some Operators have their English/Korean voicelines added in the CN server before their release in Global; as a result, these voicelines are retroactively included in the Operator's Global release rather than in the update where the dialogues are added in the CN server.
    • In the case of alternate Operators whose original versions haven't yet received English/Korean voicelines in Global but are added at the time of the alternate's introduction in CN, the original's English/Korean voicelines would be retroactively implemented in the closest event in the Global server after the alternate's release in CN.
  • Despite this, the new Operator introductions from event trailers in EN and KR still use Japanese voicelines until Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures for KR and The Rides to Lake Silberneherze for EN, from which the aforementioned trailers use voicelines of their corresponding languages, making the latter the first event where the event trailer uses the respective server's corresponding language. The Global-only animated PVs, however, continues to use Japanese voicelines.
• Azusa Tadokoro (Kroos and Texas), Xie Ying (Lava and Swire), Yuuki Luna (Hibiscus and Jessica), and Kim Ha-young (Jessica and Lava) are the first CVs of their respective language to voice multiple Operators with an alternate version.
• Operators introduced in crossover events based on characters in the subject material only have voicelines in the subject's original language, as evident with Team Rainbow Operators only having English voicelines, Nine-Colored Deer only having Chinese voicelines, and Laios's Party Operators only having Japanese voicelines.
  • The only exceptions to this are Kirin R Yato and Rathalos S Noir Corne, being Arknights characters involved in the crossover event's story.
  • A special case is Luo Xiaohei, whose Spirit form also has Japanese voicelines by Kana Hanazawa (Blemishine), who voiced him in the Japanese dub of The Legend of Hei in addition to the original Chinese.
