In Arknights, events, officially known as limited-time events, act as content releases that further expands Arknights' gameplay and/or setting by introducing new content from operations to Operators, enemies, and coverage of subjects that are not elaborated in the Main Theme (although not always). Events also act as temporary instances where players can claim various rewards through gameplay progressions.

Overview[edit]
Based on the scale, events can be divided into major events, minor events, commemorative events, seasonal events, special events, and crossovers.
Major events feature their own operations and stories/interludes, and are distinct in that they tend to feature much more robust event stores, and introduce new "tilesets" with some exceptions (notably Operation Originium Dust and A Walk in the Dust which reuses an identical tileset) as well as new enemies and mechanics. The stories/interludes of major events are always unlocked in sequence, and is tied to the operations themselves; the major event's plot are usually contained within the main operations, though some are also included in the extra operations.
All major events will receive a rerun (known in the CN server as retrospection) at a later date following the event's release.
As of A Walk in the Dust, major events are grouped into two categories and their operations become available to play permanently after release, with some restrictions (see Event operations § Major).
- Story Collections
- Login events: These events can be run during or separate from any other event, as they are "non-intrusive." The systems of login events differ from one another, but they are usually defined by giving out rewards for logging in several days in a row, or add temporary additional rewards to daily and weekly missions. The rewards for these events are typically simple materials and an outfit.
Celebration[edit]
There are two different Celebration events.
- In CN, first Celebration events are released in November 1 to commemorate half-year anniversaries; in Global, they are released on the period between the Carnival and Festival events, and labeled Thank-You Celebration.
- In CN, second Celebration events are released in May 1 to commemorate yearly anniversaries; in Global, they are released on the period between the Festival and Carnival events, and labeled Arknights Celebration from Absolved Will Be the Seekers; prior to this, second Celebration events are variably labeled Gift of the Deep Ones (Under Tides and Stultifera Navis) and One Giant Leap (Lone Trail).
- Up to Absolved Will Be the Seekers, the Global server releases second Celebration events in late October or early November, which is close to Halloween. Starting from The Masses' Travels, they are released in mid October.
Festival[edit]
In CN, Festival events are released in late January to early February to commemorate the Chinese New Year; in Global, they are released to commemorate half-year anniversaries.
- Up to Here A People Sows, the Global server releases second Festival events in late July or early August, possibly to coincide with the release of Carnival events in CN (see below). From Such is the Joy of Our Reunion, they are released around Global's half-year anniversary date of July 17, or 6 months after the yearly anniversary date of January 16.
Carnival[edit]
In CN, Carnival events are released in August 1 to to celebrate the peak of summer; in Global, they are released in mid January, usually at Jan. 16 (the Global server's release date), to commemorate yearly anniversaries.

List of commemorative events[edit]
The tables below shows the list of events released to commemorate various milestones in each Arknights server.
Due to the TW server's rushed content release pacing, only CN and Global are included in the tables below.
Gameplay tags[edit]
Since Dissociative Recombination (CN)/When Elegies Are Ashes (Global), events other than Story Collections in the newly introduced Score menu now have gameplay tags which indicates what to expect in the event's operations.

- Due to being 8–9 months behind the CN server at launch and ~6 months behind at present, the Global server of Arknights released events—those featuring limited headhunting banners in particular—outside their supposed theme by necessity.
- In CN, Celebration events are intended to commemorate anniversaries while Festival and Carnival events are intended to commemorate Chinese New Year and summer, respectively; Global instead releases both Celebration events as an "interim" between the Festival and Carnival events which are released to commemorate Global's half-year and yearly anniversaries, respectively.
- This is because since the 1st Anniversary Celebration, Global's content release pacing allows CN's Summer and Chinese New Year events to be released as Global's yearly and half-year anniversaries, respectively, and CN's anniversary events to be released in between them on Global, as explained above.
- As a consequence, prior to the scheduling being made more consistent in 2025, Global reschedules the release of at least one event preceding Carnival events from Dossoles Holiday into February or March to make way for the Carnival event as Global's yearly anniversary event.
- Interestingly, the above caused Global to release the summer-themed Carnival events in January, whilst the Northern Hemisphere is in winter which makes the event totally out-of-season. This is not the case for the Southern Hemisphere (especially equatorial countries) however, which is in dry/hot season on January.
- Possibly because of this fact, Carnival events since Adventure That Cannot Wait for the Sun no longer emphasize on summer elements so that it won't be out of place for players on servers other than CN by the time the event is released in the respective server. An arguably similar situation is also the case for Festival events, which do not emphasize on Chinese New Year elements since Who is Real.
- Chronologically Global's half-year anniversary falls on July 17, but Global celebrated half-year anniversaries by releasing Festival events in late July/early August so it would coincide with the release of Carnival events in CN until Such is the Joy of Our Reunion that is released exactly in July 17.
- Similarly, until the release of I Portatori dei Velluti, Celebration events are released in Global to coincide with their CN release; as the result, the Global release of second Celebration and Carnival events is 2.5 months apart, while the release of Carnival and first Celebration events is 3.5 months apart; unlike the release of events featuring limited banners in CN which is consistently 3 months apart. With the release of The Masses' Travels on October 14, 2025, Global now has a gap of about 3 months between limited banners like CN and eliminates the need to reschedule events preceding the anniversary (Carnival) event.
- There are three instances where Global does not follow this release pattern:
- There is usually a downtime of up to 7 days between event releases (coloquially known as "dead days" or a "dead week") in Global. However, consecutive/back-to-back event releases do occur in Global at times, usually if the succeeding event does not feature new Operators from headhunting.
- If there are more than 7 days of downtime, Global would held a minor, non-intrusive event covering said downtime.
- While CN sometimes have two events overlapping with each other, such never happens in Global (outside of non-intrusive events such as login ones and Trials for Navigator seasons) until Pinch-Out Experimental Operation, which overlaps with the last few days of Stultifera Navis Rerun.
- It is worth noting that event operations are typically designed to the advantage of the Operators introduced by the headhunting banner that runs concurrently with the event. For example, Passenger's ability to chain arts damage to close-by targets would be advantageous against A Walk in the Dust's various drone summoners, as would Heavyrain's ability to heal and provide Camouflage.
