Olafur Silverash is a background NPC in Arknights whose legacy plays a supporting role in Break the Ice and Prelude Suite: Swordbreaker and Silverfront. He was notable for his plans of reforming Kjerag into a modern nation.

Background

Olafur was the former patriarch of the Silverash clan of Kjerag and the late father of Enciodes, Enya, and Ensia respectively. Inspired by the few books, tools, and blueprints that his father managed to bring from his adventures, he decided to travel to foreign countries, thus becoming the first person in Kjerag to study abroad. In fact, he earned a considerable reputation in Victoria making connections and friendships within the nobility, including Viscount Walden of House Caster. During his studies in Victoria he would also meet his wife Elizabeth.[1][2]

Back in Kjerag, Olafur was a beloved and well-respected man, but due to his reformist ideas, he also had his fair share of detractors; Arctosz' father, Luca Browntail, Ratatos, and Sciurus's grandfather specifically. Even his brother, Chester, was initially against his plans.[3] Following the Battle of the Four Emperors, the geopolitical situation in Terra started to change drastically, and Kjerag's peace wouldn't last for long. Olafur intended to industrialize Kjerag and open the country's borders, but this was opposed by the Browntails and Paleroches. They plotted to assassinate him and Elizabeth by trapping them inside a burning house as part of their scheme to oust the Silverashes from the Tri-Clan Council. Before they could, Olafur and Elizabeth would die in a train accident in the Terran year 1082 and the Edelweisses being framed for their death by Luca Browntail.[4][5]

Olafur's death led to the quick decline of the Silverash family's political status with his son Enciodes inheriting the family's fortune. Upon receiving his inheritance, Enciodes would move to Victoria to receive a modern education.[6] However, things wouldn't stop here, as Enciodes would return to Kjerag in the Terran year 1090 to establish Karlan Trade, and finally re-consolidate the clan's position within the Tri-Clan Council.[7]
