The Little Black Sheep are Dolly's Beast Kins appearing as black-skinned sheep with pinkish wool, described as his clones with their own, unique personalities made in the image of people that the Sovereign of Sheep meets throughout his existence with a "special link" to Terra.[1] In fact, many Little Black Sheep retained at least some of the memories of the people they are based on, even after their death; initially it was believed that the Little Black Sheep are actually living vessels of the respective individual's soul, although Dolly confirmed that bringing back the dead is beyond his capability.[2] The purpose of these clones is to serve as Dolly's precious mementos, acting as eternal marks whom they have befriended along the way.
Like their progenitor, Little Black Sheep have a worldview that differs with humans, notably believing that bottlecaps are seeds,[3] and enjoys bathing and "surfing" in molten lava,[2] with a kleptomaniac tendency[4] and playful demeanor that can be an annoyance for most people especially because only children, other Beast Lords, and Dolly's friends can see the Little Black Sheep on their own, although they can made themselves visible to others at times.
Notable
- Gentle & Solemn Creature: A pair of Little Black Sheep implied to have been created by Dolly in the image of Katia and Magna Naumann. They met with Adele Naumann in a series of dreams,[5][6] culminating in them taking Adele out for a night walk and then to a volcano where they parted ways. They are last seen in Mount Siesta following its eruption.[7]
- Lost Creature: A Little Black Sheep implied to have been created by Dolly in the image of Barbara Doykos, Herman Doykos' late wife and Ceylon's mother. It follows Adele as it tries to find the gift from Pelipper Brown for Ceylon's birth, eventually doing so while she is confronting Pelipper over his illegal obsidian mining activity and him revealing the gift, upon which it stands beside Ceylon (who could see it) and takes a look at the gift before vanishing.[8] Ceylon's encounter with this Little Black Sheep made her realize that her mother cares much for Siesta like Herman, allowing her to reconcile with her father.
- Tiny Creature: A Little Black Sheep with pinkish skin and blackish wool, unlike the others, created by Dolly in the image of Adele herself and stays with her all the time. This Little Black Sheep also appeared in Eyjafjalla's Summer Flower FA018 outfit.
Enemies
All of Little Black Sheep fought as enemies heavily makes use of the Steam mechanic as Dolly does himself, courtesy of the Sovereign of Sheep's geothermic powers.
