  • He is obviously named after Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned, who in turn is named after the American celebrity Dolly Parton.
  • The association of sheep and volcanoes is likely inspired by various cultures of sheep herding around volcanic landscapes, especially in Icelandic culture, hence Dolly's power and appearance.[1][2]
