"The Last Steam Knight" is a boss enemy in Arknights. He is the final (technically main) boss of Episode 11.

Enemy description
Steam Knights are the pride of Victoria, her fist, her highest military honor. The last Steam Knight rises from sealed ruins, intent on defending the Victoria in his heart.

Story

The last Steam Knight, Sir Charles Lynch, arises from his slumber

The Last Steam Knight's real name is Sir Charles Lynch, who was knighted in the year 1072 as one of the last members of the Steam Knights before the popular uprising that toppled the previous Aslan king.[1]

As with the rest of the Steam Knights, Sir Lynch was betrayed by the Parliament who ordered them to protect the "Sighs of Kings" in the Mausoleum of Kings underneath Londinium while Duke of Cavendish is launching a coup d'état, and ambushed by the Military Commission of Kazdel invited by the Duke. Sir Lynch was left as the sole survivor of the Steam Knights in the aftermath and continues his duty, yet due to a loss of memory over the years, he has long since forgotten his very own identity and past, and only utters "Victoria" for mistaking the Sighs to be what he fights for — to protect Victoria.

Episode 11

When Alexandrina Victoria recovers the Realmblade, Sir Lynch wakes up and attacks her and the others out of his duty to safeguard it. Allerdale, relieved to finally see a surviving Steam Knight and felt guilty at her betrayal, uses her Arts to forcefully take the others out of the mausoleum and causes the statues in the hall to collapse, sealing the mausoleum in the process.[2] She and Sir Lynch somehow survived and, after returning above ground, fights the Sarkaz in Londinium together.[3]

Overview

The Last Steam Knight boasts extraordinarily high HP, ATK, and especially DEF (being the second highest among all bosses) befitting of his order's legendary reputation, which make him a force to be reckoned with, although his RES is subpar. These are compounded by several abilities that allows the Steam Knight to inflict both focused and wide-reaching destruction.

Ability Init. cooldown Cooldown
Reduces ASPD and MSPD by 50 and 50%, respectively, until the first use of Pneumatic Pressurization.
Passive
Pneumatic Pressurization
Goes into overdrive for 20 seconds (shown as an orange meter below the Last Steam Knight's HP meter), during which the Steam Knight has his ASPD and MSPD increased by 100 and 30%, respectively, and becomes immune to Stun and Freeze, but will be Stunned for 5 seconds after Pneumatic Pressurization expires.
25 sec.
Lv0: 45 sec.
Lv1: 40 sec.
Furious Defense
Attacks with the pilebunker after a wind-up time of 7 seconds, dealing three instances of Physical damage equal to 125% ATK each.
4 attacks
Unto My Last Breath
When the Last Steam Knight's HP falls below 50%, he flies off the map and locks onto the friendly unit with the highest maximum HP for ~8 seconds before marking a 3×3 tile radius centered on the target for a barrage of eight rockets over 5.5 seconds at the rate of one rocket every 0.5 seconds, each hitting the target with the highest current percentage of HP within the radius and dealing Arts damage equal to 50% ATK. Once the barrage ends, the Steam Knight returns to the map in his previous position.
  • If the Steam Knight is using Furious Defense when his HP reaches the threshold for Unto My Last Breath, he will finish his attack before taking off.
  • If the Steam Knight found no target throughout the search duration, the rocket barrage will be skipped and he will land after a friendly unit is deployed.
Conditional
Revives over 8 seconds when HP reaches 0 for the first time, after which the Last Steam Knight enters the second phase (where the forcefield is absent) with the following traits:
  • Invulnerable for 15 seconds.
  • DEF and RES reduced by 1500 (Lv0)/2000 (Lv1) and 40, respectively.
  • Pneumatic Pressurization is now permanently active.
  • Unto My Last Breath will now be used immediately after the Last Steam Knight enters the second phase and whenever he loses 30% of his maximum HP, and locks onto two targets simultaneously, but the damage dealt by each rocket is reduced to 40% ATK.
    • If the Steam Knight is reduced below multiple Unto My Last Breath thresholds while using Furious Defense, he will only use it once.
