Sverdsmeltr, Guardian Ember of the King is a boss enemy in Arknights.

Enemy description
From the youngest general of the Punishment Clan, to the final Diαblo. Facing the siege, he guarded the king's remains for three days and nights. Finally, in the final flame's light, he saw his promised homeland.

Overview

Living up to the Diablos' terrifying reputation as the last of his kind, Sverdsmeltr possesses terrifyingly high HP, ATK, and DEF along with high RES which makes him capable of overwhelming entire squads of Operators by himself. In addition, he wields a wide variety of dangerous abilities for both offense and defense, which are only exacerbated when faced in higher-difficulty stages.

  • Sverdsmeltr cannot be Critically Wounded before triggering Payback (see below).
  • Suppression: Sverdsmeltr targets the last deployed Operator and snares them with a Haunting Flame with a cooldown of 5 seconds after he spawns and 30 seconds (25 sec. at Level S) after. However, he will not snare a target already affected by a Flame.
    • The Haunting Flame has 8000 HP, 100 ATK (but does not attack), 750 DEF, 0 RES, and an aggression level of 1; a unit snared by the Flame will be disarmed, Silenced, and cannot restore/recover SP, and takes 150 Arts damage every second.
    • If the target leaves the map while being ensnared by a Haunting Flame, they will be encased in a coffin that prevents them from being redeployed until it is destroyed, upon which they can be instantly redeployed (although their DP cost will ramp up as usual). The coffin has three times the Flame's DEF and prevents the deployment of other units on the tile it occupies.
  • Payback: When Sverdsmeltr's HP is reduced to 0, he will survive, immediately snare all Operators in a radius of 1.7 tiles with Haunting Flames, and become invulnerable for 30 seconds, during which he summons a Condensed Heat every 5 seconds, which targets the last deployed Operator and attempts to fly towards them, indicated by a line connecting the Condensed Heat to their target.
    • The Condensed Heat has 3000 HP, 100 ATK (but does not attack), 50 DEF, 80 RES, a speed of 0.25 tiles/second, and considered as an aerial enemy. The Condensed Heat will be immobilized for the first second of its duration before accelerating at a rate of 50% of its base speed every 0.5 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
    • The Condensed Heat deals 200 Arts damage and Burn Damage every 0.5 seconds to friendly units within a radius of 1 tile. If it manages to come within 0.4 tiles of its target or the target leaves the map, it will self-destruct to deal 2000 Arts damage to friendlies within 2 tiles.
    • If no valid targets are available when the Condensed Heat is spawned, it will instead fly towards the closest Protection Objective and will actually deduct 1 Life Point if it manages to do so!
  • At Level B, after Payback ends, Sverdsmeltr will be defeated. At Levels A and S however, Sverdsmeltr will fully restore his HP over the duration of Payback before entering the second phase and gaining the following properties:
    • Does not attack and loses Suppression.
    • Has Low-Altitude Hovering.
    • Immediately summons 1 (2 at Level S) Reforged Retinues.
    • At Level S, if there are valid targets within 3 tiles, he will summon a Condensed Heat every 5 seconds.
    • When Sverdsmeltr's HP in the second phase reaches 50% or all Reforged Retinues are defeated, whichever comes first, he will "absorb" all Retinues on the field, instantly defeating them and restoring 20% of his maximum HP for each Retinue absorbed. After this, Sverdsmeltr gains the following properties:
      • Loses the Low-Altitude Hovering and can attack.
      • While not blocked, Sverdsmeltr uses a ranged AoE Arts attack with a range of 3 tiles which deals half of his ATK and affects friendly units in a radius of 1 tile.
      • Extinction: An upgraded version of Suppression that snares the target with a unique Haunting Flame that is invulnerable but harmless, and summons a special Condensed Heat targeting the victim which must be destroyed to free the snared Operator. Extinction will be used 2 seconds after entering the third phase and every 25 seconds after, and will not target an operator already snared by a Flame.
        • The special Condensed Heat has 5000 HP, will explode when destroyed to deal 300 Arts damage to friendly units within 2 tiles, and will deal 10000(!) Arts damage if it manages to self-destruct.
      • Sunwielder's Sanctuary: At Level S, whenever Extinction is used, Sverdsmeltr will also gain a Barrier that absorbs 10000 Arts damage, which stacks if Sunwielder's Sanctuary is activated again while a Barrier is already active. While the Barrier is present, Sverdsmeltr's DEF will be tripled and all friendly units within 1.3 tiles will take 300 Arts damage and 200 Burn Damage every second.
