The Corrupted Knight acts as the main boss of Maria Nearl alongside the Withered Knight.

Enemy description
A Sarkaz knight with a broken horn who radiates terror and shows clear signs of excessive drug use. Uses a warhammer in battle. Crushes enemies with a terrifying bloodlust. When the Withered Knight falls, takes up the quest and becomes dramatically stronger. Every step he takes spreads corruption.

While the Withered Knight focuses on strong ranged Arts attacks, the Corrupted Knight instead focuses on devastating melee attacks that allow him to heavily damage, if not outright knock out most melee Operators with ease due to his sheer ATK, as well as shrugging off Physical punishment thanks to his very high DEF, although his RES is on the lower side. In addition, the Corrupted Knight has the following abilities to bolster his heavy strength:

  • The Corrupted Knight's attacks damage both the target and friendly units adjacent to the target, similar to Demolitionists but without the damage reduction on the secondary targets.
  • A special attack telegraphed by the Corrupted Knight's eyes glowing red as he leaps into the air before slamming his warhammer onto the target, which takes 4 seconds to complete and deals Physical damage equal to 3× his ATK to the target and friendly units adjacent to the target, with a cooldown of 22 seconds from when the Corrupted Knight spawns.
  • Should either the Corrupted or Withered Knight leaves the map while both are present together, the other will become enraged (indicated by a red aura surrounding him) and have his ATK, ASPD, and speed increased by 80%, 100, and 150%, respectively. Therefore, it is highly recommended that the player defeats both Knights at the same time or in a short time between each other to save them from the trouble of having to deal with the enraged surviving Knight.

In MN-8, MN-EX-8, and VI-7, both the Corrupted and Withered Knight spawns at the same time. This is also the case in Arena 8 if the Sarkaz Knight: Joint Training II/III Contract is used.
