Deathless Black Snake (enemy)

The Deathless Black Snake acts as the final boss of Episode 08 (and by extension, the Shatter of a Vision story arc and the first part of the Main Theme), where they are represented as the manipulated Talulah confronting Amiya and Ch'en in the climax of the Chernobog Crisis.

The Deathless Black Snake is among the strongest and hardest of all bosses in Arknights; while having much less ATK than Talulah, she possesses a lot of abilities which can make short work of unprepared Operators and, as mentioned before, makes the encounter against her possibly the most difficult challenge players will face:

  • Attacks by swinging her sword in a flaming arc, which deals True damage and inflicts Burning Breath on the target for ~30 seconds.
    • Even though the attack appears to be melee, it is considered as a ranged attack, allowing the Deathless Black Snake to hit units on both melee and ranged tiles.
    • Despite the visual effect, the attack will only hit one target at a time.
  • Any damage dealt by friendly units being affected by Burning Breath to the Deathless Black Snake is halved.
  • Inflicts Burning Breath on the two most recently deployed friendly units anywhere on the map for ~30 seconds; as with Talulah, the Deathless Black Snake will never use this ability on units that are already affected by Burning Breath. The Burning Breath ability has a cooldown of 19 seconds from when the Deathless Black Snake spawns.
  • "Detonates" all instances of Burning Breath on friendly units, dealing Arts damage equal to the Deathless Black Snake's ATK to the victims and friendly units in the adjacent tiles to them, and removes Burning Breath on the primary target but inflicts it on the secondary targets. The Burning Breath detonation has a cooldown of 35 seconds from when the Deathless Black Snake spawns.
  • Deathless Inferno: When her HP reaches 0 for the first time, the Deathless Black Snake will temporarily vanish in an explosion, upon which 10 waves of fireballs, each wave spanning the map's width (i.e. one fireball per lane), will engulf the map for ~12 seconds, sweeping in from left to right; each fireball deals Arts damage equal to the Deathless Black Snake's ATK towards the first friendly unit it come in contact with.
    • A second Deathless Inferno will occur when the Deathless Black Snake's HP is brought to 0 while enraged (see below); after it ends, the Deathless Black Snake will be defeated upon reappearing.
  • After the first Deathless Inferno ends, the Deathless Black Snake reappears with full HP and becomes enraged (indicated by the black tendril-like structures trailing behind her), gaining the following properties:
    • Invulnerable for 15 seconds, indicated by a yellow aura surrounding the Deathless Black Snake.
    • HP and ATK increased by 50%.
    • Spawns Energy Aggregates around the map 50 seconds after the Deathless Black Snake reappears and every 75 seconds afterward; the tiles where they will spawn are marked by a glowing red "T" symbol. The amount and position of Energy Aggregates spawned this way varies with each use, but always follow a specific pattern depending on the map.
