Transformed into a gargantuan Sea Terror after being cornered by the Abyssal Hunters, Quintus acts as the main boss of Under Tides under the name Sal Viento Bishop Quintus.

Enemy description
A member of the Church of the Deep who snuck into disaster-ravaged Iberia. He changed the law of the land through his sincere beliefs, in pursuit of the perfect form, yet he was unable to fathom the will of the ocean. Then again, who could?

Overview

Taking up no less than 5×3 tiles on the map (as well as being the first "large" boss that occupies multiple tiles), Quintus has massive HP along with decent defenses to offset his immobility, although his ATK is surprisingly low which is offset with his wide array of abilities:

  • Unlike most other enemies who prioritize the last deployed friendly unit when attacking, Quintus will instead prioritize those with the highest DEF.
  • Due to his size, Quintus' attacks essentially have a global range, in addition to being able to hit two targets at once and inflict Nervous Impairment equal to 20% of his ATK in each hit.
  • Great Tide: Releases a bluish wave that deals Arts damage and inflicts Nervous Impairment equal to 50% of Quintus' ATK to all friendly units, with a cooldown of 45 seconds from when he spawns and every 40 seconds afterward.
  • Collapse: Slams the ground, causing stalactites to fall onto two targets anywhere on the map that deals Physical damage equal to 140% of Quintus' ATK, with a cooldown of 37 seconds from when he spawns and 40 seconds afterward.
  • Fragmentation: Summons two or three Offsprings on predetermined undeployable tiles around the map, with a cooldown of 50 seconds from when Quintus spawns and 40 seconds afterward.
  • Once his HP falls below ~67% or 75 seconds have passed from when he spawns, whichever comes first, Quintus will enter the second phase, indicated by a blue aura pooling around him, granting him the following properties:
    • ATK increased by 40%.
    • Great Tide will be used 15 seconds after entering the second phase, its cooldown is reduced to 35 seconds, and the Nervous Impairment inflicted is increased to ~67% of Quintus' ATK.
    • Collapse will be used 4 seconds after entering the second phase and can now hit up to four targets simultaneously.
    • Fragmentation will be used 10 seconds after entering the second phase and its cooldown is reduced to 35 seconds.
  • Once his HP falls below ~33% or 200 seconds have passed after Quintus enters the second phase, whichever comes first, he will enter the third phase, indicated by black particles swirling around him, granting him the following properties:
    • ATK further increased by 70%, for a total of +110% ATK.
    • Great Tide will be used 1 second after entering the third phase and its cooldown is reduced to 3.5 seconds, but both the Arts damage dealt and Nervous Impairment inflicted are reduced to 20% (30% at Level 1) of Quintus' ATK. Despite the cooldown now matching his attack interval, Quintus will never use Great Tide twice in a row, always either attacking once or using another ability between them.
    • Collapse will be used 13 seconds after entering the third phase and can now hit up to eight targets simultaneously.
    • Fragmentation will be used 15 seconds (25 seconds at Level 1) after entering the third phase and its cooldown is reduced to 18 seconds (30 seconds at Level 1).
    • Species Outbreak: If 200 seconds (250 seconds at Level 1) have passed after Quintus enters the third phase and he is not defeated by then, he becomes invulnerable and unleashes a massive wave that reduces the Life Points to 0, resulting in an instant mission failure!
