Initial Form
  • Flying unit; unblockable
  • While on the battlefield, increases the strength of all Machine enemies
  • Attacks will deploy small drones that deal continuous Arts damage to the target for a period of time, prioritizing targets that are not already locked onto by these drones
  • Periodically refreshes a shield that can resist Physical and Arts damage, and grants Invisibility to other enemies within attack range as long as this shield holds
  • Periodically locks on to the friendly unit with the greatest number of surrounding units and continuously deals Arts damage in an area around that unit
  • Periodically locks on to the friendly unit with the fewest number of units around it and continuously inflicts Stun in an area around that unit
  • When HP reaches 0 for the first time, Stitch will appear

The "Materialist Antagonizer" is a boss enemy in Arknights. It is the main boss of Ideal City.

Enemy description
Construction machinery attempting to protect Stitch Canvas, under the mistaken impression that he is about to be attacked. Before explaining what's actually going on, let's settle things with a test of strength first.

Overview[edit]

Nearby enemies are invisible while Shield is active; continuously bombards the area where you have the most units, and continuously interferes with the area where you have the fewest units.

One of the UAVs used by Stitch Canvas with a surprisingly thick armor and outfitted with various advanced Durinese weapon and defense systems that carries him along with it under a mistaken belief that the young architect's life is in danger, the Materialist Antagonizer complements its significant HP and well-rounded stats with several powerful abilities, notably two based on friendly units' density.

Initial Form
  • Immune to Stun, Freeze, Sleep, and Levitate.
  • Attacks summon small drones that locks onto the target (indicated by a red crosshair), dealing 20% ATK Arts damage every second for 15 seconds, which is reset when the Antagonizer attacks the target again, and prioritize targets who do not have a drone locked onto them already.
Initial Form traits

Has a Barrier that absorbs 9999 Physical and Arts damage, and causes nearby enemies within a radius of 2.5 to become Invisible.
Only used in the Initial Form.
Passive

Machina enemies have +20% ATK.
Only used in the Initial Form.
Passive

Fully restores the Barrier's damage absorption.
Only used in the Initial Form.

Bombardment attack
Targets the friendly unit with the most other friendlies in the surrounding 8 tiles and channels over 3 seconds (indicated by a red sphere and a glowing red countdown) before attacking the target with an energy projectile that deals 100% ATK Arts damage over a 3×3 area every 5 seconds, lasting until the Antagonizer uses the bombardment attack again or leaves the Initial Form.
  • If multiple units meet the targeting criteria, the bombardment attack will target the unit with the highest aggression level > the last deployed unit.
  • If no valid targets are available, the bombardment attack will target the Antagonizer's position.
Only used in the Initial Form.

Interference attack
Targets the friendly unit with the least other friendlies in the surrounding 8 tiles and channels over 3 seconds (indicated by a yellow sphere and a glowing yellow countdown) before creating an energy field on the target's position that Stuns friendly units over a 3×3 area for 3 seconds every 5 seconds, lasting until the Antagonizer uses the interference attack again or leaves the Initial Form.
  • If multiple units meet the targeting criteria, the interference attack will target the unit with the highest aggression level > the last deployed unit.
  • If no valid targets are available, the interference attack will target the Antagonizer's position.
Only used in the Initial Form.
35s 31s

Drops off Stitch on the spot over 1 second when defeated in the Initial Form; if the Antagonizer has not reached a specific position yet, it will drop off Stitch on said position instead, and enters the Stitch Form.

Stitch Form
  • Now becomes a ground enemy.
  • Has -400 DEF, -40 RES, and +200% MSPD.
  • Does not attack.
  • Stunned for 30 seconds.
