Enemy description
Maritimus, the sage, the traitor, the great man, the sinner. His identities are destined to contradict, yet he only sees himself as "heir of the sea". The ocean originally belonged to Aegir, until Maritimus used it as the sustenance to nurture life. Thus, the remnants of the caerula became the heir of the seas.

Overview

As the founder and spiritual leader of the nefarious Church of the Deep, Maritimus is unique in the sense that he is invulnerable at all times and do not attack, rather relying on his ability to augment and support his Seaborn kin to overwhelm defenses at the cost of his own life force.

  • Every 40 seconds, Maritimus spawns two Mononucleus Predators (Heteroluminary Predators at Level 1) on the spot, which follow his path.
  • Guided Evolution: Maritimus links himself with the Sea Monster enemy with the highest current HP, increasing its HP and ATK by a massive 350% and 300%, respectively (150% HP and ATK at Level 1), and inflicts Nervous Impairment equal to 10% of the Sea Monster's ATK (25% at Level 1) as it deals damage. If the linked enemy is defeated, Maritimus loses 40% of his maximum HP, which is the only way to reduce his HP at first. Guided Evolution will be used 10 seconds after Maritimus spawns and every 40 seconds after, but cannot be used if he is linked with two Sea Monsters already.
  • When Maritimus' HP is reduced to 0 for the first time, he will survive and revive himself by fully restoring his HP over 10 seconds, during which he is disabled. Afterwards, Maritimus enters the second phase with the following properties:
    • Spawns Mononucleus/Heteroluminary Predators every 25 seconds (30 seconds at Level 1).
    • Loses Guided Evolution.
    • Whenever a Sea Monster enemy is defeated, Maritimus loses 1.8% of his maximum HP (2.5% at Level 1).
    • Every 60 seconds, Maritimus increases the ATK of all Sea Monsters present by 25% (35% at Level 1), which stacks additively up to 3 times.
    • Fed Vitality: Maritimus links himself with all Sea Monsters present for the next 20 seconds, during which he loses 1% of his maximum HP every second (1.25%/sec. at Level 1) and renders all linked enemies unable to be defeated; in the event a linked enemy takes fatal damage, it will be put to Sleep and regenerate 5% of its maximum HP every second for 20 seconds (20% max. HP/sec. at Level 1). Fed Vitality will be used 28 seconds after Maritimus enters the second phase (20 seconds at Level 1) and every 55 seconds after.
    • Prisoner of Humanity: Maritimus links himself with the last deployed Operator for 50 seconds, during which they are inflicted with a debuff that causes them to lose 150 HP every second (180 HP/sec. at Level 1) if their HP is not full and forcibly activates their skill (if manually activated) whenever it is charged, exactly like that of the Hemopoietic Inhibition and Concentration Disorder Rejections in Mizuki & Caerula Arbor. If the Operator linked by Prisoner of Humanity leaves the map, the tile they were on and the adjacent four tiles will be sealed and become undeployable for the rest of the operation; friendly units on those tiles will be instantly defeated. Prisoner of Humanity will be used 10 seconds after entering the second phase and every 40 seconds afterwards (12 seconds and 30 seconds, respectively, at Level 1).
