Eblana acts as the main boss of What the Firelight Casts under the name "The Leader".

Dublinn's "Leader," the life-burning Draco, the fear-evoking shadow. Do not let her close in on you.

Overview

Eblana boasts powerful Arts attacks, strong defenses, and several abilities that can compound her durability by absorbing damage and debilitating multiple targets at once:

  • When not blocked, Eblana uses a ranged Arts attack by casting Arts from her hand.
  • When blocked, Eblana uses a melee Arts attack by striking at the blocking friendly unit with her spear.
  • Rebirth: As long as Eblana is present, all non-Machina enemies except Dublinn Flamechaser (Elite) Soldiers and Flamechaser (Elite) Guards will turn into Embers when defeated, indicated by a purple flame above them.
    • The Embers are invisible and require 5 hits to be destroyed; if the Embers are not destroyed in 10 seconds, they will turn into a Flamechaser Soldier (Flamechaser Elite Soldier at Level 1).
  • Sovereign: Eblana brands a friendly unit within her attack range with an Exhausted Flame 5 seconds from when she spawns and every 30 seconds after, but she will not use it on friendlies who are already branded by an Exhausted Flame.
    • The Exhausted Flame disarms the branded unit (Medics also became unable to heal friendlies) and prevents them from using skills, and can be attacked by friendlies, having 10000 HP that degenerates at a rate of 5% per second, 800 (1000 at Level 1) ATK (the Flame does not attack, thus the ATK is only used to scale its explosion which is explained below), 0 DEF, 60 RES, and an aggression level of 1. When the Flame is destroyed or the branded unit leaves the map, it explodes to deal Arts damage and inflict Burn Damage equal to 100% and 125% of the Flame's ATK, respectively, to the branded unit and friendlies in the adjacent tiles.
  • Give and Take: Eblana "sacrifices" up to 5 Dublinn Flamechaser (Elite) Soldiers present at the time, instantly defeating them and giving herself a Barrier that absorbs Physical and Arts damage equal to 50% of Eblana's maximum HP for every sacrificed Flamechaser Soldier, up to 250%, that lasts for 60 seconds. Eblana will use Give and Take 5 seconds after she spawns and every 70 seconds afterward.
  • When her HP reaches 0 for the first time, Eblana will survive and revive herself by fully restoring her HP over 5 seconds, during which she is invulnerable and disabled. Once revived, Eblana will enter the second phase (indicated by her removing the mask) with the following properties:
    • Invulnerable for 15 seconds.
    • Releases a wave of purple flame that instantly ignites all Reeds on the map upon entering the second phase.
    • ATK increased by 30%.
    • Ranged attacks now can hit up to two targets within range.
    • Melee attacks deal two hits in quick succession with 80% ATK each.
    • Sovereign will be used immediately after revival and now targets up to two friendly units.
    • Give and Take will be used 5 seconds after revival and its cooldown is reduced to 60 seconds.
