Story

Overview

The ravenous Cerberus has high HP and ATK that makes it a dangerous foe up close, while its defenses are somewhat average. However, the player is encouraged to pacify the Cerberus by sating it hunger rather than fighting, as it has many abilities that make taking it down by force a painful task, whereas pacifying it can instantly win the battle:

  • The Cerberus initially uses a Physical melee attack.
  • While the Cerberus is alive, additional enemies that are not included in the enemy counter will continously spawn; see the respective operation details for more information.
  • Picky Eater: Upon spawning, the Cerberus will demand a specific food sourced from one enemy type, which will become the only enemy that can fill the Really Big Pot. Once the Pot is filled and a meal is prepared, the Cerberus will immediately run to the Pot to eat, during which its MSPD is quintupled and it is invulnerable, and cannot be blocked, but does not attack. After eating the meal, the Cerberus will instantly enter the next phase, demanding a new food and repeating the process. Inversely, if the Cerberus reaches the Pot and no meal is ready, it will deduct 1 Life Point and enters the next phase.
    • Every time the Cerberus enters a new phase, the Pot will have its SP reduced to 0.
    • If the Cerberus' HP is reduced to 0, it will survive and become invulnerable and cannot be blocked, but does not attack, moving to the Pot and transitioning to the next phase regardless of whether or not a meal was prepared, making this an alternative way of progressing the battle.
  • The Cerberus takes less Physical and Arts damage proportionally to how empty the Really Big Pot is, up to a maximum of -80% if the Pot is completely empty.
  • When its HP falls below 50%, the Cerberus will enter a berserk state (indicated by intense purple flames around it) where its ATK and MSPD are increased by 50% and 120%, respectively, and it becomes immune to most movement-impairing debuffs and Negative Statuses.
  • If the player attempts to directly add ingredients to the Pot, the Cerberus will enrage, immediately entering the berserk state (see above) and gaining 80% Physical and Arts damage reduction for the rest of the phase. While enraged, the Cerberus cannot have its current phase ended by cooking meals, and will deduct 1 Life Point if it reaches the Pot regardless of whether or not the player cooked the right meal after, making manually defeating it the only option.
  • Cerberus starts in the "Wanna Eat This!" phase with the following traits:
    • Demands a meal made from Regularly Fed Originium Slugs (Level 0)/Direswines (Level 1)
    • Predate: Launces a special attack every third attack with 1.5× ATK and permanently reduces the target's DEF by 150, which can stack without a limit.
  • After being fed once, the Cerberus enters the "Wanna Eat That!" phase with the following traits:
    • Demands a meal made from Berry Slugs (Level 0)/Fruit Slugs (Level 1)
    • Hungry Roar: Lets loose a roar that Stuns friendly units in a radius of 1.8 tiles for 4.5 seconds (5 seconds at Level 1) and instantly waking up all Berry and Fruit Slugs on the map. Hungry Roar has a cooldown of 40 seconds (20 sec. at Level 1) after the Cerberus enters the "Wanna Eat That!" phase and 20 seconds afterward.
  • After being fed twice, the Cerberus enters the "Time to Eat!" phase with the following traits:
    • Demands a meal made from Berry Metal Crabs (Level 0)/"Pompeii" (Level 1).
    • Now uses a ranged Arts attack with 80% ATK (100% at Level 1) when not blocked.
    • Loses Hungry Roar.
    • Flames of Gluttony: Locks onto a friendly unit in a radius of 2 tiles and breathes flame at them for 7.6 seconds, dealing Arts damage equal to 2.5% (3% at Level 1) of the Cerberus' ATK every 0.5 seconds which increases by 3% in each instance, up to a maximum of 25% (35% at Level 1), and can be interrupted by disabling the Cerberus. If the target being attacked by Flames of Gluttony leaves the map, an explosion will be triggered on their position that deals Arts damage equal to 200% of the Cerberus' ATK to friendly units in a radius of 2.5 tiles. Flames of Gluttony has a cooldown of 10 seconds after the Cerberus enters the "Time to Eat!" phase and 20 seconds after.

Trivia

  • Because Ceobe is pre-deployed (and cannot be used) in DT-8 and the Cerberus is actually Ceobe who had reverted into her "primal" form, this is the only instance where an Operator cannot be used on where they are fought as an enemy under a different form.
    • Ceobe can actually be used in DT-EX-8 where the Cerberus is fought again, however.
  • The Cerberus resembles the three-headed dog that is present in Ceobe's Elite 2 artwork.
