The "Sui-Xiang" (lit. "Face/Facade of Sui") is a boss enemy in Arknights. It is the main boss of Invitation to Wine.

Enemy description
The shadow of the bestial Sui, towering and venerable. It casts its lazy gaze upon the mortal realm, and in the blink of an eye a thousand years have come and gone. With the millennium passing like a dream, it is uncertain whether it is feeling anger or bitterness.

Overview

An incarnation of Sui's true form manifested by the black goblet made by Wang, Sui-Xiang takes up an enormous area of 4×5 tiles and boasts towering HP (which, unlike other bosses, is shown as a unique meter on top of the HUD while It is present) and ATK, decent defenses, and a plethora of dangerous abilities that are more than enough to make up for Its inability to move on Its own.

Ability Init. cooldown Cooldown
Dantian
Sui-Xiang is initially in the form of an orb-like vessel named Dantian, which is invulnerable but cannot do anything. 20 Wisps will spawn from the map's Protection Objectives and attempt to move towards the Dantian; upon coming into contact with it, the Wisp will be "absorbed" and increase Sui-Xiang's HP by 5% (visually identified as parts of Its HP meter turning bright red). 2 seconds after all Wisps leave the map, Sui-Xiang will materialize Itself, at which all tiles that It would occupy are turned into brown tiles which cannot be deployed upon; any friendly units on the said tiles will be instantly defeated. Sui-Xiang will also be invulnerable for 4 seconds after It materializes.
Innate
Attacks prioritize targets on low ground tiles closest to Sui-Xiang (the distance is determined relative to the bottom-middle tile of Its tile area).
Innate
Halves damage taken from friendly units that are above or below Sui-Xiang.
Passive
Faraway Mountains' Thunderclap
Calls down lightning bolts on up to three friendly units, prioritizing ranged ones closest to Sui-Xiang, dealing Arts damage equal to 13% ATK every 1.5 seconds to the targets and friendlies adjacent to them for 15 seconds.
10 sec. 18 sec.
When Its HP reaches 0, Sui-Xiang will vanish and spawn the next wave of enemies. Once all enemies in said wave leaves the map, Sui-Xiang's Dantian phase will be repeated at another position closer to the Protection Objective, after which It enters the second phase with the following traits:
  • Has 75000 (Lv0)/85000 (Lv1) HP, 1500 ATK, and 500 DEF. At Level 1, Sui-Xiang also has 40 RES.
  • The damage reduction from friendly units above/below Sui-Xiang is increased to 80%.
  • The cooldown of Faraway Mountains' Thunderclap is increased to 25 seconds.
Innate
Heavensfall
Strikes a friendly unit with the bladed tail, prioritizing melee ones closest to Sui-Xiang, dealing two instances of Physical damage equal to 130% ATK each and inflicting a Negative Status which causes the target to take Arts damage equal to 10% of Sui-Xiang's ATK every second which increases further by 10% in every 2 instances for 15 seconds.
Only used in the second and third phases.
5 sec. 20 sec.
When Its HP reaches 0 in the second phase, Sui-Xiang will vanish again and spawn the last wave of enemies. Once all enemies in the last wave leaves the map, Sui-Xiang will repeat the Dantian phase at another position, after which It enters the third phase with the following traits:
  • Has 95000 (Lv0)/100000 (Lv1) HP and 1600 (Lv0)/1700 (Lv1) ATK. At Level 1, Sui-Xiang also has 35 RES.
  • Normal attacks can now hit up to two targets at once.
  • The cooldown of Faraway Mountains' Thunderclap is further increased to 30 seconds.
  • The Physical damage dealt by Heavensfall is reduced to 120% ATK and the Arts DoT increment is changed to 15% (Lv0)/20% (Lv1) in every 3 instances. At Level 1, the Negative Status' duration is also reduced to 12 seconds.
  • Wisps that will reduce Omnidirectional Breath's cooldown by 3 (Lv0)/2 (Lv1) seconds upon coming into contact with Sui-Xiang will spawn.
Innate
Omnidirectional Breath
Charges up and unleashes horizontal beams into every row to the right side of Sui-Xiang for 5 seconds, dealing Physical and Arts damage over time to all friendly units in each row and scorches unoccupied tiles unless if a friendly unit is in the beam's way, preventing friendly units from being deployed there for the rest of the operation; the first friendly in each row takes damage equal to 35% ATK every second while others behind them take damage equal to 15% ATK every second. Omnidirectional Breath's cooldown is uniquely shown as a purple meter below Sui-Xiang's HP meter.
Only used in the third phase.
10 sec. 60 sec.
If not defeated in 9 minutes after the operation starts, Sui-Xiang becomes invulnerable and unleashes golden shockwaves that reduces the Life Points to 0.
  • The timer will be extended by an additional minute when Sui-Xiang enters the third phase.
