Crying Thief
The Crying Thief is an elite enemy in the Integrated Strategies game mode of Arknights.
Overview[edit]
“ | Obedient Perro. Invisible, attacks cause Stun, drops Treasure when defeated. | ” |
—Tooltip |
A bestial Perro and a nephew of the Teary Detective[1] who develops a timid disposition after losing his job, leaving his family behind, and suffering from amnesia, the Crying Thief does not reduce Life Points upon entering a Protection Objective, thus taking him on is entirely optional in the event he spawns. The Crying Thief himself has above-average HP and the other stats are below-average at best, but his abilities are of the biggest concern.
Ability | Initial CD | CD |
---|---|---|
Innate | ||
Attacks Stun the target for 4 seconds.

When defeated in an Integrated Strategies operation, awards a random Collectible that is accounted for on the result screen.

As the result, blocking the Crying Thief to reveal him is short-lived, so the player should make use of burst damage to take advantage of the brief moment the Thief reveals himself.
Alternative ways to deal with the Crying Thief, other than Status Resistance that some Operators have, include:
- Lumen can remove Stun from allies with
In Downpour, Grace or
This Lantern Undying, letting the Operator block the Crying Thief again and buy more time.
- Lessing can become immune to Negative Statuses including Stun with
Oathbreaker.
- Kirin R Yato becomes temporarily immune to Negative Statuses including Stun while unleashing
Blade Dance, often able to deal massive damage if not outright defeating the Crying Thief because Yato will block and reveal him.
- Frightening the Crying Thief is the best solution as he won't be able to attack in the first place; Degenbrecher can easily do this with her Born Warrior, preferably in conjunction with
Silent Derision and
Return to Silence.
- Deploying Barriers in the Crying Thief's path also works, as these devices cannot be Stunned and can block him for a good while, providing an ample opportunity for Operators to focus on him. The same also works for the static Roadblocks.
- A well-timed stun/freeze can keep the Operator blocking the Crying Thief away from his stunning kick. Such effect by the Mr. Boom in particular can render him immobilized for a very long time, allowing for an easy dispatch.
- Of course, having detectors at the ready will leave the Crying Thief wide open to attacks.

Other than the above, the Crying Thief has a 5% chance to spawn in an Integrated Strategies (Emergency) Operation from Mizuki & Caerula Arbor after all other enemies are defeated, but never together with the Duck Lord, Fatty, and Gopnik.
