The Cautelotaur is an elite enemy in Arknights.
Overview
A rarely sighted, large Terran reptilian theropod reminiscent to how maniraptors such as Velociraptor are depicted before the discovery that dinosaurs are more closely related to birds than reptiles due to having feathers, Cautelotaurs are a dangerous enemy thanks to their very high HP and ATK along with decent DEF, allowing them to soak heavy punishment from Physical damage while dealing as much in return, though they have no RES whatsoever.
Notably, Cautelotaurs are capable of preying upon Chitotex/Keratex Clawbeasts once they are close enough; should one successfully prey upon a Clawbeast, the Cautelotaur takes its shell which gives it the same damage reduction and weak point properties as the Basorobeasts, along with immunity to Stun. To compound this, Cautelotaurs will prioritize facing the direction with the most friendly units, necessitating more engaging strategies to hunt them down.
Should the Cautelotaur is struck by a Flash Grenade while wearing a Clawbeast shell, they will drop it and loses its protection as well as the ability to prey upon Clawbeasts again.
