Variation
Variation is an operation mechanic introduced in Zwillingstürme im Herbst.
Overview[edit]
Leithanien is known for its music, which have dynamic variations that affects how enemies attack and even granting additional abilities for some.
Variation is represented by special visual effects around the screen and a music sheet-like bar shown on the HUD. As the operation progresses, a musical note will gradually move along the bar; when this note stays on the sheet's yellow section, the variation turns passionate (crescendo) and yellow sound waves will be shown at the edges of the screen. Similarly, when the note stays on the sheet's purple section, the variation turns melancholic (decrescendo), and purple sound waves will be shown. However, no variation will be active when the note stays on neither of these two sections.
- In the passionate variation, enemies have -50% DEF, +50 ASPD, and +100% MSPD.
- In the melancholic variation, enemies have +20% ATK, -50 ASPD, and -50% MSPD.
Tuning Nodes can be used to switch the active variation by activating it when either variation is in effect.
Enemies whose special abilities are enabled in a variation (see below) have a yellow four-pointed star or a purple sphere above them, which glows brightly during the corresponding variation.
Interactions[edit]
- After Herkunftshorn, "Witch King" enters the Second Form, the variation meter is altered to one with only a single section and the note indicator's color matching the next Sovereign's Edict variation until the Witch King is defeated, after which the note indicator is absent.
- While a Sovereign's Edict variation is active, the BGM will be overridden with a rearranged version that depends on the variation in question; for more information, see Zwillingstürme im Herbst/BGM.
| Enemy | Interaction |
|---|---|
| Their attacks deal Arts damage in the passionate variation.
| |
| Their special attack restores the HP of all enemies (including the Chorister themselves) on the surrounding tiles by twice their ATK in the passionate variation.
| |
| |
| Their normal and special attacks' radius are extended to 2.2 and 3, respectively, in the passionate variation.
| |
| |
| |
| |
| His Sovereign's Edict forcibly activates a variation, during which all enemies have their ASPD further increased by 10 in the passionate variation or have their ATK further increased by 10% in the melancholic variation. Enemies that are Stunned at any point during a Sovereign's Edict variation will be punished by taking heavy Arts damage after it ends.
