Frigid (mechanic)

Frigid is an operation mechanic in Arknights, introduced in The Rides to Lake Silberneherze.
Overview
Most people cannot withstand Kjerag's cold climate that can at times drop into sub-zero degrees, which translates to Frigid covering the entire map and permanently inflicting Cold to friendly units (and only friendly units), which kicks in a short time after they are deployed, and intermittently Freezing them, leaving them especially vulnerable to enemies who, as mentioned before, are completely unaffected by Frigid with some being augmented instead (see Interactions below).[note 1]
The only way to counteract Frigid is by deploying friendly units in the surrounding tiles to a lit Emergency Heater, which gives them immunity to Cold and Freeze including those inflicted by Frigid and negates the advantages certain enemies had while on Frigid areas.

- ↑ Technically the Frigid mechanic is a modified Snowfall independent to each friendly unit and occurs 2 seconds after the friendly is deployed and every 10 seconds afterward, inflicting two instances of Cold that lasts for 5 seconds; the first is inflicted at the start and the second is inflicted 4.95 seconds afterward, thus resulting in friendly units alternating between suffering from Cold and Freeze every 5 seconds.
