Active Originium Storm is an operation mechanic in Arknights, introduced in Episode 14.

Overview

A localized Catastrophe caused by the accumulation of active Originium particles in the atmosphere, Active Originium Storms are treated as an invulnerable enemy unit that is neither included to the enemy counter nor listed in the Archives, and does not keep the operation from ending after all other enemies are defeated, which moves around the map at a speed of 0.4 tiles per second while continuously generating the namesake around it, with a radius of 0.8 tiles.

The Active Originium Storm causes all units caught in it, both friendly and enemy, to take 50 True damage every second. In addition, friendly units caught in the Storm also have their SP recovery rate reduced by a sheer 80%.

The Active Originium Storm's strength will intensify when it passes by a tile with Originium Contamination, expanding its radius by 0.2 tiles and increasing its damage-over-time by 25, up to 8 tiles and 200/sec., respectively; the Contamination is removed in the process.

The Active Originium Storm can also be drawn into certain locations by a Beacon;[note 1] if multiple Beacons are present, the Storm will be drawn towards the most recently spawned one, which is marked in green.
