—Description of operations featuring Hand of the Saint

The Hand of the Saint is a deployable device in Arknights. Named after the Saints of Iberia, it is a battlefield support device used by the Inquisition that launches a cross-shaped bladed projectile to sweep away hostiles in its path and rumored to have been based on a device confiscated from the Islanders.[1]

The Hand of the Saint is deployed on melee tiles and launches the namesake towards its facing after deployment, which will remain for 2 seconds (thus it can travel up to 6 tiles away) or until it hits a ranged tile or wall; enemies that comes into contact with the Hand will be damaged and momentarily Stunned.

The Little Handy's Housekeeping Assistant Module give Hands of the Saint additional properties depending on which effect is selected, listed below.

  • Hand of the Saint - Purification: The Hand removes all Nethersea Brands it passes through, which is the only way to do so.
  • Hand of the Saint - Patrol: Instead of immediately disappearing upon coming into contact with a ranged tile/wall, the Hand ricochets to the opposite direction, allowing it to repeatedly damage and Stun enemies. Deploy a Hand of the Saint - Patrol on a narrow melee tile flanked by ranged tiles or walls, and watch as enemies in its path are quickly taken out (or Stunned for a long time, at least).

Bugs/glitches

  • When Stultifera Navis is initially released, the Hand of the Saint's Stun is applied after the damage, which can be noticed by using it against Nethersea Predators. An update at some point after SN is added to Terminal changed the Hand to Stun the enemy before inflicting the damage.
  • The Hand of the Saint normally cannot block enemies, but if the Interdiction - Fortification effect of the Little Handy's Incremental Motion Firmware is selected, the Hand device (not the projectile) will be able to block one enemy, which can be detrimental if the player deploys it right on a tile occupied by enemies since the enemy will be pushed away from the Hand's AoE.
