Protector Defender, colloquially known as Normal or Tank Defender, is a branch of the Defender class in Arknights.

As their name suggests, Protector Defenders focus on withstanding attacks and holding off enemies' advance due to their block count of three and very high DEF. However, most Protector Defenders have low ATK and an attack range of the same tile as themselves, although some have moderate ATK and an attack range of the tile ahead of them like other melee Operators. Regardless, Protector Defenders have no base RES.

Strategies

  • Thanks to their high HP and DEF, Protector Defenders can handle enemies that do Physical damage at varying ranges of ASPD.

Modules

  • The PRO-X Module allows the Protector Defender to withstand attacks from strong melee enemies, especially when combined with DEF buffs to bolster their DEF further.
  • The PRO-Y Module improves the Protector Defender's blocking capability and notably allows them to block certain enemies such as Theater Golems (which are counted as 4 enemies when blocked) on their own.

Tips

  • Due to their lack of RES, Protector Defenders are weak to Arts damage especially group of them.
    • Matterhorn however, is the exception of this case since he has innate RES and RES-boosting skill unlike the others.
