Protector, colloquially known as Normal or Tank Defender, is a branch of the Defender class in Arknights.
As their name suggests, Protectors focus on withstanding attacks and holding off enemies' advance with their high block count and very high DEF. However, most Protectors have no base RES, low ATK and an attack range of the same tile as themselves, although some have better offensive capabilites and an attack range of the tile ahead of them like other melee Operators.

Strategies[edit]
- Thanks to their high HP and DEF, Protectors can handle enemies that do Physical damage at varying ranges of ASPD.
Modules[edit]
- The PRO-X Module allows the Protector to withstand attacks from strong melee enemies, especially when combined with DEF buffs to bolster their DEF further.
- The PRO-Y Module improves the Protector's blocking capability and notably allows them to block certain enemies such as Theater Golems (which are counted as 4 enemies when blocked) on their own.
Tips[edit]
- Due to their lack of RES, Protectors are weak to Arts damage.
- However, Matterhorn is the exception since he has innate RES and a RES-boosting skill.
