Trait
  • Can only be blocked by player's units of the same attribute.
  • Explodes upon death, dealing Arts Damage to friendly units. Causes even greater damage if similar units of the opposite attribute are in its vicinity

"Smarty" is a normal enemy in Arknights.

Enemy description
A strange Ink Spirit named by the painter herself. Seems to be alive. Very lively with its movements and likes to wander around. Not very commonly seen as it explodes if it touches any fellow Ink Spirits with opposite attributes.

Overview[edit]

Can only be blocked by units of the same attribute. Explodes upon being defeated, touching an opposite attribute ally will trigger a more violent explosion.
—Tooltip (shared with Dazzled Smarty)

A (literally) fiery and jovial will-o'-wisp Ink Spirit, "Smarties" are very weak at first glance, having rather low HP and ATK, and no defenses whatsoever despite using a melee Arts attack, but their traits can make dispatching Smarties a tough affair.

Ability Initial CD CD
  • Initially has either the Hui or Ming attribute (varies with the operation).
  • Increases damage dealt against units with an opposing attribute to 140%.
  • Reduces damage dealt against units with a matching attribute to 60%.
Innate
Can only be blocked by friendly units with a matching attribute.
Innate
Explodes when defeated, dealing Arts damage equal to 400% ATK to nearby friendly units within a radius of 1.25. The damage is increased to 440% ATK against units with an opposing Hui/Ming attribute and reduced to 360% ATK against units with a matching attribute.
Explodes when a (Dazzled) "Smarty" with an opposing Hui/Ming attribute is nearby, dealing Arts damage equal to 1500% ATK to nearby friendly units within a radius of 2. The damage is increased to 1650% ATK against units with an opposing attribute and reduced to 1350% ATK against units with a matching attribute.

It is recommended to defeat Smarties separately or deploy units away from where Smarties with opposing attributes cross their paths, which is usually the case whenever they are featured.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Chinese name literally means "proud", "cute", or "complacent".
  • The Smarty might be based on Guihuo (鬼火), a Chinese will-o'-wisp.[1][2]
    • The Japanese name (Onibi, lit. "fire ghost") is the kun'yomi rendering of Guihuo.
