Heart of Surging Flame is the second Side Story in Arknights.

Band choices

When entering the event menu for the first time, after watching the Obsidian Festival intro, the player must choose one of the three musical acts listed below, with the choice being permanent for the rest of the event.

The choice will affect the special furniture given by completing the Siesta Obsidian Milestone and the music heard in the OF menu.

Two furniture sets: Rhodes Island Modern Music Rehearsal Room and Siesta Beach Hut, are available:

• Some parts for Rhodes Island Music Rehearsal Room are obtained by clearing OF operations and from Capsule Machines and Siesta Obsidian Milestone, while most are available in the Furniture Store.
• Siesta Beach Hut is available exclusively in the Furniture Store.

Miscellaneous

• Players will be given a Ten-roll Headhunting Permit (through the in-game mail) when logging into the game for the first time during the event.
• During the event, players will receive an Top Emergency Sanity Potion daily, in addition to 500 until May 3, 2020 (both of which are given through the in-game mail).

Trivia

• In the CN server, the Trends are displayed in a style similar to that of Weibo. In the Global server, they are more similar to Facebook comments.
• In the CN server, Heart of Surging Flame preceded Operational Intelligence, but this was reversed in the Global server. In addition, Global's Part 1 was actually live after the main OF event (Part 2 in Global).
• In the original run, the Heart of Surging Flame menu sometimes played the main menu BGM briefly before the designated BGM. This was fixed in OF Rerun and after OF is added to the Terminal.
