Skyfire attends an event in place of a councilor, but gets caught in a kidnapping. Realizing there's a plot driving the enemy, she casts to put a stop to it.

Despite her colleagues' opposition, Mounted Officer Grani investigates the arson at the pub. As the suspects flee, they inadvertently set off an explosion.

Quercus returns to Caladon. Susie tips off the Guards, but finds herself kidnapped before escaping during an accidental explosion. Councilor Bishmer's conspiracy at last comes to light.
