Strategy
Helter-Skelter
In this Deep Investigation, the player will start with all four Elite Ops: Pith, Sharp, Stormeye, and Touch, in return for not being able to recruit Operators when starting the run. In addition, Emergency Operations will appear more often than Operations, and the player cannot choose the Tactical Operative Squads and the First-Class Squad. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must enter 6 operation nodes.
- It is highly advised to pick Gathering Squad since the squad size is reduced to only 4, making Rec. Vouchers useless if they are not of the four Elite Ops' classes.
Living on the Edge
In this Deep Investigation, the player will start with only a single Life Point, thus they must be very careful to not let any enemy waltz into a Protection Objective especially early in the run, which could end it before it even starts! To compensate this however, the player is given King's New Lance which buffs the ASPD of friendlies so long as the player has only 1 and "End of Times" to give the player a "second wind" if they somehow screwed up, and can only pick Spearhead Squad which buffs friendlies' ATK and DEF (with the drawback being redundant as the player already starts with 1 ). To complete the Mission Objective, the player must make their way into 4F.
- Encounters that would give additional Life Points will rarely appear.
Tycoon
In this Deep Investigation, the nodes will alternate between a Rogue Trader and an (Emergency) Operation, and the player is given Supreme Ring and Proof of Friendship which increases Originium Ingot gain from operations by a total of 95%, in addition to starting with 32 . Furthermore, Cannot will be more generous than usual; he will always have eight wares in stock and may sometimes sell Collectibles that normally aren't available as his wares! To complete the Mission Objective, the player must spend a total of 100 in Rogue Traders.
Suppressive Fire
In this Deep Investigation, the player will have to pick two Casters and two Snipers as their initial Operators (but one Rec. Voucher of each class will be an Elite Rec. Voucher) and starts with the Collectibles Necklace of the Presence to buff ranged friendlies' ATK, Dreaming Essence and Royal Liqueur to speed up the charging process of skills, and "Shadow" to make Temporary Recruitment Operators show up more often than usual, but cannot pick Tactical Assault/Fortification Operative and First-class Squad. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must recruit 10 Casters/Snipers (including the starting ones, so 6 more will suffice).
- Rec. Vouchers and Collectibles related to ranged Operators will be more likely to appear, but those related to melee Operators will be much less likely to appear instead. However, the Rogue Trader is 1F will always sell a Medic and Vanguard Rec. Voucher to ensure that the player have proper DP generation and healing support.
Ground Offensive
In this Investigation, the player will have to pick two Defenders and two Guards as their initial Operators (but one Rec. Voucher of each class will be an Elite Rec. Voucher) and starts with the Collectibles Emperor's Favor to buff melee friendlies' ATK, Ribbon of Honor and "Loyality" to enhance friendly melee units when blocking enemies, and "Shadow" to make Temporary Recruitment Operators show up more often than usual, but cannot pick Tactical Ranged/Destruction Operative and First-class Squad. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must recruit 10 Defenders/Guards (including the starting ones, so 6 more will suffice).
- Rec. Vouchers and Collectibles related to melee Operators will be more likely to appear, but those related to ranged Operators will be much less likely to appear instead. However, the Rogue Trader is 1F will always sell a Medic and Vanguard Rec. Voucher to ensure that the player have proper DP generation and healing support.
Inscrutable Path
In this Deep Investigation, the Blind (and only Blind) Hallucination will always occur on every floor and the player are given all three Collectibles awarded from the "Eccentric Hunchback" Encounter: "Bladedance", "Shadow", and "Whiteflower", as well as one of the six Proof of Glory Collectibles normally only awarded by starting a Calamity Faceoff run. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must obtain a total of 20 excluding those given at the start.
- Try to receive
Gaul Mantle as the increased Hope cost to recruit/promote Operators are manageable enough, but avoid Leithanien Sceptre or Sigil of Tragodia, particularly the latter as it significantly slows the player's Command Level progression, which the primary source of Hope.
- Never add Operators with 25 or higher DP costs to the squad, as the shuffled costs of Operators due to "Whiteflower" can lead to unexpected moments such as Gravel's cost becoming that of Ifrit's!
- All the aboves makes Inscrutable Path the most difficult Deep Investigation, but don't be afraid to quit-out and restart if things aren't going as the player intended.
- Remember to obtain any Collectibles that gives out Hope to complete the Objective faster.
Bizzare Adventures
In this Deep Investigation, there are no combat nodes other than the Dreadful Foes in 3F, 5F, and 6F to worry about. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must make their way into 5F.
- Encounters which can force the player into an ISW-DU or ISW-SP Operation (e.g. "Shackled Bloodline" and Duck Lord ones) may still show up, however.
- The player is also given
Lucky Coin, Masquerade Mask, and "Magnificent Visage", thus they will receive a total of 5 and 1 whenever they enter a non-operation node.
- Since the player starts with "Magnificent Visage", the "Musical Challenge" Encounter will never appear.
- As there are no (Emergency) Operations outside the possibility of being forced into ISW-DU/ISW-SP ones through Encounters, Operator recruitment and promotion will be very difficult and can make facing the Dreadful Foes (which is mandatory) a challenge. Using Tactical Operative Squads will greatly help in this regard, as these will make Operators of certain classes immediately promoted when recruited.
- Due to how easy it is to gain resources, don't be stingy and spend all of them in Rogue Traders and Downtime Recreations whenever possible to receive everything that could help in tackling this challenge, be it Rec. Vouchers, Collectibles, and Tactical Props.
Unconventional Methods
In this Deep Investigation, the player will be unable to recruit any Operators when starting the run, thus they must somehow clear the first operation to be able to recruit one! Thankfully, the player is given "Eventide Terror" and "Excessiveness" to damage and Stun enemies whenever one enters a Protection Objective, and "End of Times" to give a "second wind" in case the two aforementioned Collectibles aren't enough, and can only pick Leader Squad which gives 4 Objective Shields in operations. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must leak no less than 30 enemies.
- Encounters that give additional Life Points will appear more often because the player will mostly have to rely on "Eventide Terror" and "Excessiveness" to deal with the enemies.
Lost in a New World
In this Deep Investigation, the Bewildered (and only Bewildered) Hallucination will always occur on every floor which will also have more combat nodes than usual, and the player are given Four-Leaf Clover Fossil to expand the Collectibles awarded from operations and Crimson Troupe Ticket Stub to occasionally award a second Rec. Voucher from clearing operations. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must obtain a total of 15 Collectibles excluding the aforementioned.
- If the player manages to enter 6F, Bewildered is replaced by Blind due to the fixed nodes.
Starting From Scratch
In this Deep Investigation, the player will start with no Originium Ingots and cannot pick the Support Squad, but are given Masquerade Mask and Supreme Ring to increase their Ingot gain, and Golden Chalice to buff friendly units' ASPD for every 5 the player have. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must obtain a total of 100 .
- The Rogue Trader will rarely appear and the last node of 1F is substituted by an Encounter.
- Collectibles that give out additional Ingots rarely, if ever, awarded, so the player will have to rely on the Masquerade Mask and clearing operations to gain Ingots.
- As the goal is to only earn the Ingots, feel free to spend them in Rogue Traders (if they do appear) and Downtime Recreations, but try to save up as many Ingots as possible to maximize the Chalice's effect.
Ark Raiders
In this Deep Investigation, 1F, 2F, and 4F will have a Dreadful Foe at the end, which is randomly chosen from those that would appear in 3F (but the same Dreadful Foe will never appear more than once). To compensate, the nodes that precede the Dreadful Foes will be nothing but at most four Boons and a Rogue Trader. To complete the Mission Objective, the player must enter 3 Dreadful Foes.
- The player is also given
Victorian "Scrap" Medal and Leithanian Medal of Honor which increases the Command EXP gain by a total of 56% to offset the fact that there are no combat nodes other than the Dreadful Foes at all. Also, the Rogue Trader will always have 8 wares with most of them being Rec. Vouchers.
- Hallucination(s) will always occur on every floor, so take caution.
Life is a Game
In this Deep Investigation, Downtime Recreations will show up more often; the last nodes of 1F, 2F, and 4F will be Downtime Recreations, and the second node of 1F will be a Downtime Recreation. The player also starts with a good amount of resources to aid them in trying their luck in the Recreations, and are given Proof of Longevity, Banshee's Kiss, and Flawless Jadestone which further increases the starting resources to 26 , 20 , and 57 ! To complete the Mission Objective, the player must enter 6 Downtime Recreations.
