Encounters

A Dark Room

IS-Contaminated Residence.png
Following the directions left by a snowpriest on their deathbed, you find a hut lodged in the wind and snow. Your companions switch on their searchlights, but the darkness is barely dispelled. You notice traces of a snowpriest spell lingering on the light's edge. Just what did they fight here?
The doors suddenly slam shut.
Option 1 Look around the area
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Raise Collapse Value by 1, but gain 5 Originium Ingots
Outcome It is quiet all around you with no movement, and you bend down to pick up a few coins lying at your feet. Then, you find it increasingly difficult to breathe, and realize you might have misunderstood what the snowpriest meant by pointing in this direction. You shut the door out of an irrational fear of suffocating.
A gust of wind blows into the hut, but for a long time you hear only silence.
Result Collapse +1, +5 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Explore with caution
IS-Event Unknown.png
Fear only comes from the unknown
Outcome An inexplicable panic grips the room, but you and your companions keep silent. You realize that some supplies have been left here, and perhaps you can find something useful for the research team.
Result Options 2-1 and 2-2 are available; Option 3A is replaced by Option 3B
Option 2-1 Rummage through the depths
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Raise Collapse Value by 3, but obtain a random Collectible
Outcome You push open a door to find a safe room, the objects within seemingly well preserved.
––This is how you explain where the object in your hand came from, but your companions all look at you with strange expressions.
"There was no room or door there."
Result Collapse +3, random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Option 2-2 Probe with your instrument
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Gain a random Collectible
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 5)
Outcome As you hold your device up to the wall, you confirm some kind of energy signal is getting picked up, stable and continuous. You and your companions then examine the entire room, but remain confused by the signals randomly distributed around the room. Eventually you choose to avoid spots with stronger signals and take some safer-looking objects with you to continue your journey.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Option EX Listen to Typhon
IS-Event Collapse Down.png
Clear Collapse Value
Outcome Your group dares not take a step as you watch the Sarkaz girl pull out an arrow to draw a slash across the wall. Perhaps it is her Arts at work, as the wallborne moss curls up as if burning, falling off in large chunks.
The room brightens up. You and your companions gratefully sit down to rest, and decide to believe that Typhon is always right.
Result Reduces Collapse to 0; leaves the Prophecy
Note This option only appears in the "A Dark Room" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "Fix On It (Mæna gegn)" Expeditioner Record run.
Option 3A Leave
IS-Event Leave.png
The darkness past the door is scarier than the outside!
Outcome Ever since you came to Sami, you've learned to trust your intuition, and especially your bad hunches.
Option 3B Leave
IS-Event Leave.png
The thorns left by the snowpriest have already wilted
Outcome Ever since you came to Sami, you've learned to trust your intuition, and especially your bad hunches.

A Profitable Plan

IS-Vexatious Boss.png
You've never doubted the Duck Lord's ability to cause trouble, but still you feel a chill creeping up your spine at the sight of him gathering a bunch of tainted Sami people who are conducting a rite. Even though he tells you that these things are just tools for creating wealth, and they haven't attacked you of their own volition, this event itself is just too bizarre!
Option 1 Crash the ceremony
IS-Event Unknown.png
You can't do this!
Outcome You don't have a clue what this rite is about, but one thing is clear: you can't let these tainted Sami people continue to exist on Sami land. On top of that, you also have to teach this maverick duck a lesson.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Give me some of that
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Gain 7 Originium Ingots
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 3)
Outcome The Duck Lord is stingy, but he doesn't seem to reject the idea of spending money to avoid peril. You happily leave the area after receiving a bunch of Originium.
Result +7 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Never mind
IS-Event Leave.png
Better let sleeping beasts lie
Outcome There are so many strange things in Sami, so you can turn a blind eye to the ones that aren't actually a threat.

Always on Alert

IS-Immaculate Plains.png
You meet six wandering souls on the icefield, undoubtedly tainted. From their appearance, they look like regular victims of no fame. Perhaps you'll want to show mercy and set them free here.
Option 1 Make a move
IS-Event Unknown.png
Better to just get it over with
Outcome You ready up your team, and a Sniper Operator takes the lead in your attack. However, the bolts they fire are casually caught by the enemy and melted in mid-air with Arts. You immediately realize these guys are not to be trifled with, but there is no turning back now.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Option 2 is no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Never mind
IS-Event Leave.png
Better let sleeping beasts lie
Outcome Your intuition tells you that these guys are not easy to deal with, so you lead your team around them.

Auspicious Sign

IS-Forest Depths.png
You discover a colony of musbeasts in a clearing. The little white creatures are bunched up together like a woolen quilt. Your presence has not scared them away, and on the contrary, you have a vague sense that they're actually inviting you.
Option 1 Play with the musbeasts
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Gain 4 Originium Ingots
Outcome You have a great time holding many tiny paws with fur stuck down your neck. After a while, the musbeasts disperse, leaving behind something shiny where the "woolen quilt" used to be.
Result +4 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Dive into the fluff!
IS-Event Get Hope.png
Gain 2 Hope
Outcome Even through your coldproof gear, you can fully feel the softness and warmth. You spend the afternoon lying down on the ground, thinking about the sky, the forest, the snowy mountains, the land, and do nothing else.
Result +2 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter

Black Footprints

IS-Black Snow.png
Your teeth are chattering. Dead beasts, countless dead beasts, dirty snow covering their bodies. Intuition tells you not to go any further in this direction, but you are unable to free your legs from the quagmire of fear. You don't know how long you spend standing there until the burly local warriors have you surrounded.
Option 1 Confront them without speaking
IS-Event Unknown.png
Talking too much in a panic will only make things worse
Outcome They see you as a poacher, as the equipment and instruments on you are beyond suspicious in their eyes. Just what have they gone through to treat all outsiders with such violence? But now, you have no time to think about it.
Result Option 1-1 is available; all other options are no longer available
Option 1-1 Defend yourself
IS-Event Battle.png
Encounter a dangerous battle[note 1]
Option 2 Escape
IS-Event Unknown.png
Lose 3 Life Points
Outcome Run, run, run. The Sami's arrows graze you, and all you can think of is getting away from that snow, fleeing in the opposite direction of those traces of filth.
Result -3 Life Points.png, leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Explain your situation
IS-Event Get LP.png
Anti-Interference Index is 0, but gain some Max Life Points
Outcome Your equipment has been damaged, and you're unable to fight off even a single hornbeast on your own. The Sami warriors take a good look at you, and without a word bring you back to their tribe. After ingesting several herbs provided by the locals, you slowly regain your composure.
Result Increases the Life Point cap, leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear when the Anti-Interference Index is 0.
Option 4 Recall information
IS-Event Leave.png
You have met the relocated clan tree before
Outcome You share with these warriors all you know about this threat, the menace that has already roamed for hundred of miles—and perhaps beyond—blackening the snowfields as it goes. From their pensive expressions, these Sami seem to know what it is, but determinedly refuse to divulge even a word to you. They give you some supplies in return.
Note This option will only appear if the player had previously entered Wounded Prime Tree.
Option EX Santalla's Sanctuary
IS-Event Get LP.png
Restore 5 Life Points, and gain 10 Objective Shield
Outcome The old tree's attendant helps you to see the truth of this land devastated by disaster; fear will eventually come even if you do not move forward, the endpoint of escape is only nothingness, and you never had a choice in the first place. Fortunately your companions are by your side, and they are all willing to accompany you on this long road with a slim chance of success.
Result +5 Life Points.png, +10 Objective Shields; Option EX-1 is available; all other options are no longer available
Note This option only appears in the "Black Footprints" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "Parting (Faravel, báze dearvan)" Expeditioner Record run.
Option EX-1 Challenge your fear
IS-Event Battle.png
Encounter an even more dangerous battle[note 2]

Ceremony of Healing

IS-Boating.png
This funerary fleet is performing some sort of rite. Drums beat to a rhythm as people bend down to kiss the water, whispering prayers for the spirits and the sun's rays. The host invites you to do as the locals do.
Option 1 Try cautiously
IS-Event Get LP.png
Lose 1 Anti-Interference Index, but gain 3 Max Life Points
Outcome The ice-cold water wets your lips and you suddenly feel relaxed, as though you've never experienced such a peaceful moment ever since you set foot on Sami soil. You want to understand the science of the ritual by analyzing the water's properties, but the equipment falls into the water as you quietly try to take a sample. All the locals look up at you, and you know that you should leave at once.
Result Anti-Interference Index -1; +3 Life Point cap; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Gladly join in
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Anti-Interference Index is 0 and lose 3 Life Points, but receive a random Collectible
Outcome After the ceremony concludes, you learn that in recent years the locals have been disturbed by huge shadows in their dreams. Can a rite like this really improve their situation? As soon as you make your question, you feel dizzy from the water you drank. The locals are quite critical of your attitude, but give you an item as a token of their care.
Result -3 Life Points.png, random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear when the Anti-Interference Index is 0.
Option 3 Leave
IS-Event Leave.png
Better let sleeping beasts lie
Outcome You have heard of this rite that calms the mind and grants courage against evil spirits, but you still don't know what exactly these evil spirits the Sami see really are. Confident in the research team's equipment and supplies, you decline their invitation.

Chain of Camps

Lord of the Nightzmora.png
There seems to be a sizeable army stationed on the icefield, camps stretched out as far as the eye can see. Is it Ursus? Higashi? Or even Yan? The style of the barracks doesn't match any of them, so it might be none of those nations. Perhaps you should take a closer look.
Option 1 Get a little closer
IS-Event Unknown.png
Lose 3 Life Points
Outcome Arrows shot from the camp deals some damage to your party, but when you walk into the camp you find nothing inside. Just like a phantom, a scam. As you prepare to leave, a loud horn sounds out from thin air, and Kuranta emerge from the empty phantom tent in single file, dressed in unusual clothing. They quickly line up in formation, encircling a general in the center. He points his weapon at you.
Result -3 Life Points.png; Option x-1 is available; Option 2 is no longer available; Option 3A is replaced by Option 3B
Option 2 Approach with caution
IS-Event Unknown.png
Safety is paramount
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 1)
Outcome Arrows shot from the camp deals some damage to your party, but when you walk into the camp you find nothing inside. Just like a phantom, a scam. As you prepare to leave, a loud horn sounds out from thin air, and Kuranta emerge from the empty phantom tent in single file, dressed in unusual clothing. They quickly line up in formation, encircling a general in the center. He points his weapon at you.
Result Option x-1 is available; Option 1 is no longer available; Option 3A is replaced by Option 3B
Option x-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 3A We should just leave
IS-Event Leave.png
It's too dangerous
Outcome The camp is so huge it takes you a long time simpler to reach its perimeter. However, you're surprised to find several other camps of similar size connected end to end, just like a lone knight leaving his footprints on the earth.
Option 3B Run!
IS-Event Leave.png
It's too dangerous
Outcome The camp is so huge it takes you a long time simpler to reach its perimeter. However, you're surprised to find several other camps of similar size connected end to end, just like a lone knight leaving his footprints on the earth.

Chain of Suspicion

IS-Live by the Trees.png
A Sami tribe has taken in a large number of outsiders. However, the differences in race and nationality make them suspicious of each other, and whispered complaints form an undercurrent running through the tribe. There are no Collapsals here, but eventually the shadow of a lie shatters the people's sanity, leaving the whole tribe in disarray.
Option 1 Maintain order
IS-Event Get Objective Shield.png
Gain 1 Objective Shield
Outcome Together with the tribe's shaman, you create a sanctuary for those who are still sane, and then set out to deal with the violent mob.
Result +1 Objective Shield; Option x-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 2 Survey the situation while maintaining order
IS-Event Get Objective Shield.png
Gain 3 Objective Shield
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 3)
Outcome Together with the tribe's shaman, you create a sanctuary in an easily defensible location to keep those who are still sane safe, and give it your all to keep the violent mob out.
Result +3 Objective Shields; Option x-1 is available; Options 1 and 3 are no longer available
Option x-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 3 Avert a conflict
IS-Event Leave.png
Better let sleeping beasts lie
Outcome You feel a completely inexplicable urge for cathartic violence rising inside you, so you quickly leave with your team members.

Change

This Encounter is added in Expansion II and will always appear as the next Encounter (except while in the secret floor) while having the Horizon Invitation.png Horizon Invitation.
IS-Black-Clad Invitation.png
Many years have passed since the giant facility at the end of the icefield was discovered, and many great things have happened since then: "Terra Icefield Megastructure Research and Restoration Convention"—the birth of the Black Hole Protocol, the Feranmut Sami's departure, and a spike in technological advancements brought by Collapsal research. Every explorer undoubtedly dreams of traveling north to the place that changed everything, but... what exactly is the test mentioned in the invitation? That's when you notice an unfamiliar figure in camp that no one else seems to perceive.
Option 1 Display the Horizon Invitation
IS-Event Unknown.png
Hold the Horizon Invitation
Outcome You subconsciously pull out the invitation and hand it over to him. He takes a look, nods, and turns around before vanishing before your eyes. You seem to catch a glimpse of the Rhodes Island logo and a bone pen as he disappears. However, the very next moment you find yourself in the sands of Sargon. Your team members are panicking at this sudden shift, but you are fully aware that this is a test for you to prove yourself.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Option 2 is no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Reach for a weapon
IS-Event Leave.png
We've got an intruder!
Outcome Just as you are about to attack him, he vanishes into the mist, and the other expeditioners look to you in surprise. Luckily, the farce passes quickly, and you resume your journey towards the icefield.

Clairvoyance's Direction

IS-Through the Wind and Snow.png
The blizzard on the uninhabited icefield makes it impossible to see anything, and you and your research team companions fight the extreme cold as you try your best to keep up with the mysterious procession in black. Where are these Cyclopes headed to?
They reply: "The next millennium."
Option 1 Tell me about the "Tool"
Frozen Whetstone.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome They sigh and march northward, none of them answering your question save for one who hands you something as he passes by. You realize that it is a whetstone, a possible catalyst for Sami Arts. "The only tool is an indestructible self."
Result Frozen Whetstone.png Frozen Whetstone; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Tell me about the "Path"
Clairvoyant's Reveal.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome They sigh and march northward, none of them answering your question save for one who hands you something as he passes by. You realize that it is a compass containing the Cyclopes' Originium Arts. "Now that you have started, do not ever stop."
Result Clairvoyant's Reveal.png Clairvoyant's Reveal; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Perhaps we can help each other out
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain a precious Collectible
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 4)
Outcome The towering Cyclopes gradually walk further and further away. It seems none of them believe that you can be of any help to them. You never manage to catch up with them, but you find something by the bonfire embers they left behind during their momentary stop to rest.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Option EX Tell me about the "Reason"
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain a precious Collectible
Outcome The Cyclopes do not answer, but one whispers a warning as they pass: "Your destiny is already unclear. Can you even remember where you're headed?"
You turn around, and at some point Valarqvin approaches you as she mumbles to herself: "The ending is the purpose, and the purpose is the reason."
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Prophecy
Note This option replaces Option 3 in the "Clairvoyance's Direction" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "Past the Eye Could See (Fyrir Handan Sjounina)" Expeditioner Record run.
Option 4 Leave
IS-Event Leave.png
What if they predict something bad?
Outcome You have heard many a legend about this band of Sarkaz, but you had never believed that they existed in the northern reaches of Sami until you saw them with your own eyes. You're worried that the rumors of them bringing bad luck are true, so you silently watch them walk away.

Duck Lord's Sinister Plot

IS-Lord of Beasts and Retainers.png
Just like in those Colombian[sic] comics, in the remote uninhabited wilderness sits a villain's fortress. He and his minion lurk within, secretly hatching a plan to develop terrifying weapons that will threaten the entire land... Oh, this villain... is a duck?
Option 1 He's definitely up to no good!
IS-Event Unknown.png
Destroy his lair!
Outcome You know something is up when you see the Duck Lord show his face, and you prepare to strike before they can even react.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 What are you doing?
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Gain a random Collectible
Outcome When the Duck Lord spots you, he invites you in to take a look. Actually, this is no "fortress of evil," but a research outpost rented by a Wrankwood production crew for a film shoot. You shake hands with the director and actors, and also receive a small gift from the crew.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Leave
IS-Event Leave.png
What's that got to do with me?
Outcome Your mission to explore is a serious one, and you're not about to waste any more time here getting involved in the Duck Lord's nefarious plans. After all, should anything happen, surely the Columbian government would sort it out, right?

Entourage

IS-Dutiful Bodyguard.png
You see a luxurious motorcade parked in Sami. The people in the cars seem rich and powerful, but there don't seem to be any bodyguards or mercenaries around. You inadvertently catch a glimpse of the Duck Lord chatting in one of these cars, and when you scan the area again, you spot Gopnik leaning against a tree.
Option 1 It's not safe here!
IS-Event Unknown.png
Let's leave here quickly!
Outcome Clearly it was the Duck Lord who duped all these people and brought them to this dangerous place. You'll use your fists to drive them back to Columbia. Oh, Gopnik's spotted you.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Eavesdrop on their conversation
IS-Event Get Hope.png
Lose 3 Life Points, but gain 3 Hope
(Requires 3 Life Points, Anti-Interference Index above 1)
Outcome Gopnik glances at you, and sees that you have no intention of approaching any further. So you spend an important part of your life listening to these people boast endlessly for a full twenty-four hours. You sort out the information you obtained, and there are a few that could make you a ton of money.
Result -3 Life Points.png, +3 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 We should just leave
IS-Event Leave.png
What's that got to do with me?
Outcome Even if they were to reveal some Terra-shattering news, you have no way to cash in on that right now, so let's just forget about it.

Grab and Go

IS-Forest Depths.png
To your knowledge, the hunters and scouts from the local tribes often travel through the forests and snowfields in groups, working for weeks out in the countryside. They dig burrows in the ground and hollow out tree trunks to store emergency supplies in. According to their customs, these supplies can be accessed as needed—the forest itself will whisper the locations of these stashes to Sami hunters. But you are different, you don't need to hear the trees' voices, for you have equipment and instruments.
Option 1 Check the probe
IS-Event Get LP.png
Restore 3 Life Points
Outcome The probe finds a cavity, and the "geometry" on the device's display is clearly the boxes stacked in front of you: some wooden, some weaved, and some plastic. You and your companions are not in any dire need for supplies, but the locals' cold soup is so delicious that—as someone who has been living off of soup gels and fat cubes on your journey—you have to try it.
Result +3 Life Points.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Use a thermal camera
IS-Event Get LP.png
Gain 3 Max Life Points
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 3)
Outcome You feel around the tree trunk and soon press on a loose piece of bark. Stacks of Foldartals are hidden in its hollow. According to your guide, they are "all of the same type, and grow hot just by rubbing them with your hands." Each of you takes one, and many still remain.
Result +3 Life Point cap; leaves the Encounter

Missing Mountains

IS-Wandering Fortune Teller.png
Just as you are about to make a misstep, someone pulls you backward. The mountains' shadows overlap, and a distorted darkness creeps across your eyes. In the face of your trepidation, the fortuneteller-looking woman asks you to draw a card.
—How strange. As far as you know, neither the Sami or the Cyclopes Sarkaz use divination as a way to tell the future.
Option 1 Pick the tarot card on the left
Peek into the Eternal Night.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome "Don't be afraid of your own fate... and don't fear turning away from it either."
"A prophecy, hmm? You'll see the light when you reunite with it, and understand that it has, all along, been waiting for you in the future."
You look at the crystal ball she gave you. However, inside lies only a black mountain range, clearly solidifying, as if... it's not related to your fate.
Result Peek into the Eternal Night.png "Peek into the Eternal Night"; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Pick the tarot card on the right
Dead Tree's Echo.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome "Be at ease, the object he left behind is untainted."
"He was a shaman who led many through life and death, until he himself also 'rose from the dead'... now that is a truly frightening memory."
"I've been wandering between the mountains ever since, in order to bring him back from the gigantic shadow."
Result Dead Tree's Echo.png "Dead Tree's Echo"; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Pick the discarded tarot card by her hand
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Gain 7 Originium Ingots
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 3)
Outcome You can't clearly see her expression. Is it regret... or relief? She removes the purse on her, claiming that it is "something useless I've lost to you."
As you take the purse, you notice a large number of Originium crystals on her body.
Result +7 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 4 Opt to choose nothing
IS-Event Leave.png
Maybe it's better to leave everything to her
Outcome "May our fates cross again once more..."
She bids you farewell, walking off into the wind and snow.

Northwind Witch

IS-Do As You're Told.png
You didn't expect to find a little cabin out in the desolate icefield, owned by a polite and proper multilingual Sarkaz lady. She invites you in for a rest and even prepares tea and desserts for you. Afterwards, she picks up her basket and heads out into the snow to pick plants. As she leaves, she instructs you to rest in the house and not to wander around. Or you may leave when you're done resting. In short, it seems she doesn't want you poking around the house looking for the secrets she has hidden within.
Option 1 Walk around and touch the furniture freely
IS-Event Unknown.png
A quick look should be fine
Outcome The house seems to be infuriated by your rudeness. It splits apart into four nachzehrer branches, and the ones resting by the fireplace... oh no, are those rotchasers?! Could this scary lady possibly be someone important in the Nachzehrer Royal Court?! No one else in their right mind would build a house with these things!
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Do as you're told
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Gain 6 Originium Ingots and 3 Hope
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 5)
Outcome It doesn't take long for the witch to return, and she prepares a sumptuous feast for you along with some rations. You wonder why she's been so hospitable, and she dismisses you with a vague "you have an important mission" excuse. Since nothing bad has happened so far, you just roll with it. As for her original intention? Who knows, it certainly wasn't love at first sight, anyway.
Result +6 Originium Ingot icon.png, +3 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Let's get out of here
IS-Event Leave.png
Your own life is the most important
Outcome You've heard many strange tales related to Sami, and some of scary shamans who would trick people into a house, only to have the actually living house eat them up. The more you think about it, the more frightened you become, so it's better that you get out before it's too late, before the witch does something to you.

On-site at Public Nomadic Station N6

IS-Forgotten Silverwhite.png
A snowdrift taller than a person appears right in front of you, and under your instruments' prompting, you and your companions unearth the corner of a half-buried building with two large doors. The lights on the doors are still lit, one green and one red, emitting a faint glow.
Option 1 Look for any clues
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain a random trinket
Outcome You spend a good deal of time investigating the building. You don't manage to get in or find any clues about its purpose, but find a few items that you're not sure why were here. Perhaps this is a secret Columbian or Ursus facility, and it's better not to delve too deep into it.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 A "little knock" should do it
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain 2 Collectibles
Outcome A few silvery snowflakes float by and you feel lucky, kicking the door with the red light. It falls straight backwards! But a female voice seems to play from somewhere, and mentions "damage," "traffic safety," "will return to the parking lot," and other things in a strange accent. A light flashes, and all of you appear in a snowfield with items scattered around your group. You can still see the building in the distance, but it seems to have been re-buried in snow.
Result 2 random Collectibles; leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear if the player has Amma's Affection.png Amma's Affection; choosing this option will give up said Collectible.
Option 3 Say the password
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
You hold the flyers from earlier, obtain 2 Collectibles
Outcome It's the exact coordinates from the tourism flyers! The door with the green light opens when you say the password! But a female voice seems to play from somewhere, and mentions "forbidden," "bringing pets," "will return to the parking lot," and other things in a strange accent. A light flashes, and all of you appear in a snowfield with items scattered around your group. You can still see the building in the distance, but it seems to have been re-buried in snow.
Result 2 random Collectibles; leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear if the player leaves without taking any other options in Trimounts Travel Agency Dispatch.
Option EX Seems like Angelina has something to say
IS-Event Squad Size Up.png
Gain 5 Objective Shield, 8 Hope, and 20 Originium Ingots
Outcome The girl nods her head and raises her staff after hearing your words. With a flash of light, a bunch of things begin to appear out of thin air before loudly landing before you. A radio-like female voice sounds in a somewhat strange dialect, mentioning "clearing the path," "gratitude" and so on. After another flash of light, you find yourselves in a snowy field, surrounded by the items from before. You can still see the building from a distance, but it appears to be once again buried in the snow.
Result +5 Objective Shields, +8 Hope.png, +20 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Prophecy
Note This option only appears in the "On-site at Public Nomadic Station N6" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "Symmetria (Or Timinn)" Expeditioner Record run.

On-site at Public Signal Amplification Station 756

IS-Unknown Landmark.png
You find a patch of what the tribespeople call a "glade which glows when you step on it" that seems to be an important landmark in this area. You walk to the center of the clearing, and notice that part of the surrounding snow begins to disappear into thin air, revealing streaks of spectacular light in the ground. Then, your communicator receives a signal, the first in a long time, and the voices of your other companions left behind the camp far to the south erupt from it, and it sounds like they're in complete disbelief.
Option 1 Call for backup
Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png
Recruit any Operator
Outcome You try to pass on your needs, relative positions, and heading in the most succinct way you can, and the glowing streaks in the ground quickly dim before your communications disconnect. Later on, backup manages to catch up with your group with the help of this very landmark.
Result Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png Elite HR Dispatch Letter; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Send your coordinates and call for backup
Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png
Gain 2 Hope, and recruit 1 Operator from any class
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 3)
Outcome You try to pass on your needs in the most succinct way you can, your relative position with the help of your equipment, and even have time for a little long-distance chat. The streaks in the ground dim as you hang up your communications, and later on, backup quickly catches up with your group with your precise directions.
Result +2 Hope.png, Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png Elite HR Dispatch Letter; leaves the Encounter
Option EX Contact Kal'tsit for reinforcements
Elite HR Senior Recruitment Voucher.png
Gain 2 Hope and recruit an Operator, with certain Operators already promoted at the time of recruitment
Outcome You try your best to concisely communicate your needs to the person in charge of Rhodes Island. The light on the ground quickly dims, and communication is cut. Later, you are pleasantly surprised when the support team catches up with you, for not only did Kal'tsit understand you fully, she also trained your reinforcements to be better partners in your expedition.
Result +2 Hope.png and Elite HR Senior Recruitment Voucher.png Elite HR Senior Recruitment Voucher; leaves the Prophecy
Note This option only appears in the "On-site at Public Signal Amplification Station 756" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "Mission (Skyldan)" Expeditioner Record run.
Option 3 Tell them you're safe
IS-Event Leave.png
The signal probably won't last much longer
Outcome You wanted to get everyone in the team to talk to those back at camp, but then the glowing streaks in the ground quickly dim before your communications disconnect. You and your companions momentarily rest on the spot before moving on.

On-stage Invitation

IS-The Castle's Doors.png
Scarlet tents are pitched on the silverwhite icefield, and those unaware of the inside story lift the curtains to find a play about to begin.
Option 1 Let's watch a little
IS-Event Unknown.png
Let's treat this as a break
Outcome The play staged here is titled "Frost Buck and Snow Doe," the tale of a snowpriest's pair of twin guards, and the duo's tragic deaths. How distasteful... wait, why are those actors pointing their weapons at the audience...? ...Why are the backup dancers jumping off the stage? ...What are you people doing?
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Where's our wallet?
IS-Event Get Foldartal.png
Lose 12 Originium Ingots, but gain a fairly uncommon Foldartal
Outcome Just as you were about to go in and watch the play, you suddenly realize your wallet is missing and search outside the tent for a long time, but all you find is a strange woodcut. When you turn around, the not-so-distant camp has burned down, with no survivors.
Result -12 Originium Ingot icon.png, random Tier 2 or 3 Foldartal; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Something's off here
IS-Event Leave.png
Better let sleeping beasts lie
Outcome What kind of theater troupe would come to sparsely populated Sami to perform a play? It's probably better we stay away.

Rain!

IS-Stuck In A Mirage.png
"It's black rain..."
"We just finished harvesting a few samples," the man says in a numb voice, "but now both my samples and equipment are destroyed, and my people have run away... What do I do about the money I owe the company?"
Option 1 Hold up his detector in front of his face
IS-Event Get Index.png
Gain 1 Anti-Interference Index
Outcome The equipment is intact, untouched by the rain. But the man seems to be seeing a different scene, and he pushes you away, asking you to take whatever you want and leave quickly. You try persuading him a few more times, but he ignores you completely.
Result Anti-Interference Index +1; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Have him take a good look at his drone
IS-Event Get Objective Shield.png
Gain 3 Objective Shield
Outcome There is not even a single drop of water on his equipment, and it works perfectly. But the man seems to be seeing a different scene, and he pushes you away, asking you to take whatever you want and leave quickly. You try persuading him a few more times, but he ignores you completely.
Result +3 Objective Shields; leaves the Encounter

Regular Maintenance

IS-Between Mountains.png
Contrary to what southerners may imagine, there aren't actually many sunny days on the snowy plains—and this is one of those days. You and your companions seize the opportunity to conduct an inspection, setting up various instruments and equipment with everyone helping out. On a distant snowfield are mangler cubs frolicking with their prey, and a herd of hornbeasts on a migration.
Option 1 Check your locator, and tap your communicator a few times
IS-Event Get Hope.png
Gain 2 Hope
Outcome The locator shows that you're heading in the right direction, but the communicator is unresponsive, indicating that you've left the coverage range of the few base stations in Sami. All in all, no bad news.
Result +2 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Look through a multicolor photometric telescope
IS-Event Get Hope.png
Gain 4 Hope
(Requires Anti-Interference Index above 4)
Outcome Everything seems fine—and then you remember this telescope is not for "viewing" and take out your binoculars. You see the herd heading your way; they're looking for moss, and the place you're going doesn't have any, so this means you're both heading in the right directions.
Result +4 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Leisurely open a can of soup
IS-Event Get Hope.png
Lose Amma's Affection, but gain 15 Hope
Outcome The equipment inspection and heading verification go without a hitch, and even the canned soup is letting off steam when you open it. You and your companions feel today has been a really lucky day. It would be great if tomorrow could be just like it—you're willing to pay any price for that. Silver snowflakes drift by, and it suddenly occurs to you that you may have already paid your price for today.
Result Gives up Amma's Affection.png Amma's Affection, +15 Hope.png; leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear if the player has Amma's Affection.

Sami's Language

IS-Awfully Abnormal Omen.png
"From a linguistic perspective, deciphering the Furða Foldartals in the hands of the locals is no puzzle to crack. The truly difficult question is where they come from, and if they were carved by man... wait, what's that sound?"
The professionals in the research team are proposing that you set up cameras to monitor the local shamans' movements, so all of you witness this moment together: the wood's surface cracks and peels with a loud noise, and a intricate pattern forms on the tree.
Option Peel it off
IS-Event Get Foldartal.png
Obtain a random Foldartal
Outcome The tribe's shaman deciphers the Nature Foldartal for you, and you learn some of their legends: "The divine spirits hide in all things, the first of Foldartals a cry across the mounts"; "Sami once foretold itself, revealing a mountain range and icefield firemelt. Their wars fought long before all awoke, and this shall recur."
You are very happy, for this is information you could never get purely from deciphering the language or symbols.
Result Random Foldartal; leaves the Encounter
Option EX Make a proclamation
IS-Event Get Foldartal.png
Obtain 2 fairly uncommon Foldartals
Outcome Surtr approaches the ancient tree, an irresistible flame in hand. As the fire crackles, two Foldartals fall to the ground, scorched with burn marks. "Flames, war, my memories..." She mumbles under her breath as she watches the flames on the tree extinguish in the wind and snow. Afterwards, she takes out her notebook to record something, and also crosses out a line.
Result 2 random T2 and/or T3 Foldartals; leaves the Prophecy
Note This option only appears in the "Sami's Language" event acting as the special Prophecy of a "The Pathway With No End (Leidin aun Enda)" Expeditioner Record run.

Sobbing in the Swamp

IS-Cowardly Follower.png
You lead your team forward with caution, afraid of running into some strange Sami entity. But before long you hear something sobbing by your ears. You quickly alert your team members to prepare for battle, but a long period of time passes with no terrifying enemies showing up. You finally muster the courage to head towards the source of the sound, and realize that it is a Perro sobbing nonstop.
Option 1 You must be doing this on purpose!
IS-Event Unknown.png
Get increasingly furious
Outcome You tell him to hurry up and leave, but he just stays there squirming back and forth the place as he sobs. This annoys you to the point where you finally prepare to forcefully kick him out.
Result Option 1-1 is available; Options 2 and 3 are no longer available
Option 1-1 Enter battle
IS-Event Battle.png
Option 2 Want some candy?
IS-Event Get Objective Shield.png
Lose 5 Originium Ingots, but gain 2 Objective Shield
Outcome You can tell he's not exactly a master rhetorician, so you hand him a piece of gummy as a gesture of friendliness. He sniffs it, takes it from you, and eats it, then takes out an unopened pack of serviettes to present to you as a gift. Thank goodness, you're still able to come across regular people in Sami—even though he hasn't said a word the whole time and hasn't stopped crying either.
Result -5 Originium Ingot icon.png, +2 Objective Shields; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Are you lost?
IS-Event Leave.png
Just do him a favor
Outcome You're angry over the fact that he spent half a day hiding behind a tree without saying a word to you, but at the very least he's just a person and not some frightening Sami monster. You let your team members rest there for a while before continuing onward.

Trimounts Travel Agency Dispatch

IS-Through the Wind and Snow.png
A micro-operation platform stops in front of you. Several large low-temperature storage boxes commonly used for scientific research are bound to the chassis with ropes, with a small lidded iron basket welded to a huge cryoshield. Inside are tourism flyers covered in scenic photographs of Trimounts, Bunkerhill City, and Max D.C., along with some embarrassing copywriting, claiming that their travel agency "now has Sami-speaking tour guides!"
Option 1 Look through the cargo carrier
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome Your equipment beeps; it has found something for you. The operation platform rocks back and forth as if wanting to say something, but it emits a flash of dazzling light and disappears before you can even react. You and your companions look at each other in dismay, and your instruments did not record any valuable information either.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note The Collectible given by this option is always different from the one given by Option 2.
Option 2 Check the chassis
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome You pull open a hidden compartment, and many items lie within it. The operation platform begins buzzing, approaching you as if wanting to say something, but it emits a flash of dazzling light and disappears before you can even react. You and your companions look at each other in dismay, and your instruments did not record any valuable information either.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note The Collectible given by this option is always different from the one given by Option 1.
Option 3 Open a storage box
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Anti-Interference Index is 0, but gain 6 Originium Ingots
Outcome Most of the box's contents are of little use, but there seems to be a few items of great value buried underneath. However, they're such a pain to retrieve that you can't help but feel like making a complaint to whoever stowed them away.
Result +6 Originium Ingot icon.png; Options 3-1 and 3-2 are available; Option 4 is no longer available
Note This option will only appear when the Anti-Interference Index is 0.
Option 3-1 Use all your strength, the good stuff has to be down there
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome You triumphantly take out what you wanted and sit on the floor panting, intending to rest for a bit while your companions handle the other remaining boxes, but the operation platform emits a flash of dazzling light and disappears before you can even open your mouth to say anything. You and your companions look at each other in dismay, and your instruments did not record any valuable information either.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note The Collectible given by this option is always different from the one given by Option 3-2.
Option 3-2 Try your best to shove all the useless items to the sides of the box
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome You triumphantly take out what you wanted and sit on the floor panting, intending to rest for a bit while your companions handle the other remaining boxes, but the operation platform emits a flash of dazzling light and disappears before you can even open your mouth to say anything. You and your companions look at each other in dismay, and your instruments did not record any valuable information either.
Result Random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note The Collectible given by this option is always different from the one given by Option 3-1.
Option 4 Take away the flyers
IS-Event Leave.png
"Come! Come see the cliffs and the desert!"
Outcome The operation platform spins around and makes a rhythmic ticking sound, as if telling you something, but before you can even consider anything, it emits a flash of dazzling light and disappears. You and your companions look at each other in dismay, but come to a realization and you turn over the flyers in your hands—amazingly, they all have the same set of coordinates and password printed on the back.

Unfreezing River

IS-Gravity Displacement.png
You unconsciously take a step back when you see the river. It seems to have appeared out of nowhere, blocking you as it surges down a mountain stream. You and your companions make use of the various instruments you carry, but collect no abnormal data, and have no way to explain the uneasy anxiety inside you all.
Option 1 Go around it
IS-Event Get LP.png
Lose 3 Hope and Max Hope, but Restore 4 Life Points
Outcome You temporarily change the expedition's travel route for safety reasons. Your hands finally stop trembling as you step into the warm sunshine, but everyone remains silent and frustrated—they all know that the river is flowing in the direction of a nearby Sami settlement.
Result -3 Hope.png and Hope cap -3, +4 Life Points.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Cross the river as-is
IS-Event Collapse Up.png
Raise Collapse Value by 4
Outcome The corroded earth, the vanished beasts, your own body growing inward... A myriad of chaotic premonitions flash through your head as your companions pull you ashore. You can no longer recall if you had first jumped into the river out of fear, or if you were already in the river choking from fear.
Result Collapse +4; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Look for tools
IS-Event Get Collectible.png
Lose Amma's Affection, and gain a random Collectible
Outcome Luck is on your side today. You find a stable enough boat upstream, and it even holds a small amount of supplies. However, as you boat across the river, a melting ice crystal that falls on the back of your hand seems to call your attention, and you suddenly lower your head to see... the starry sky?
Result Gives up Amma's Affection.png Amma's Affection, random Collectible; leaves the Encounter
Note This option will only appear if the player has Amma's Affection.

Ursus

IS-Frost-covered Cave.png
What presumably was the lair of a mangler now echoes laughter, shouting, and Ursine expletives, as some of what seem to be its new inhabitants are clearly enjoying themselves. In the corner you can see the cave's original owner, heaving its last breaths after getting punched and kicked.
Option 1 Why is this place full of Ursus?
IS-Event Get LP.png
Gain 1 Max Life Point
Outcome A drunk responds to you: "Anywhere full of Ursus people, is naturally already Ursus itself!" They seem to be planning to transform the cave into some sort of territorial governance bureau. These people then slip you a bunch of vodka bottle labels, saying that with these "official colonization permits," you will be able to get all the aid you need from the state.
Result +1 Life Point cap; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 It's clearly a King-Of-The-Hole competition!
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Lose 1 Life Point, but gain 4 Originium Ingots
Outcome A new challenger—it's you! After a fierce fight (mostly amongst themselves), the Ursus people are quite impressed with your fighting skills. They pile a whole bunch of "gifts" on you, and then fall asleep on the ground snoring in disarray. The most pitiable thing in the whole affair is probably the mangler that got punched many more times.
Result -1 Life Points.png, +4 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Let them revel in their madness, we have places to be
IS-Event Leave.png
You don't want to tangle with a bunch of drunks
Outcome You and your companions leave the cave behind. You are quite sure that the local Sami tribe will not ignore this matter.

Useless Item

IS-Shady Shaman.png
You are lost, and rescued by a local shaman who seems to be used to this. She enthusiastically offers you some help, saying that she's carrying more than she needs. However, as you talk to her, your gaze cannot help but drift to the path she came from, as well as the withered vegetation on it.
Option 1 Ask for survival
IS-Event Get Ingot.png
Raise Collapse Value by 1, but gain 3 Originium Ingots
Outcome A few coins emitting an ominous aura fall into your hands, and you can't stop yourself from asking if she has any relation to the evil spirits of the north mentioned in Sami legend. She tells you those coins were left behind by companions who were sacrificed.
"Nature is power, and since we draw power from it, we will of course fight off the threat."
Result Collapse +1, +3 Originium Ingot icon.png; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Ask for knowledge
IS-Event Get Foldartal.png
Raise Collapse Value by 2, but gain a random Foldartal
Outcome A Foldartal falls into your hands, surprising you: is this one of the "surplus items" she mentioned?
"We do not recognize it as Sami. It has borrowed Sami." After saying that, she deciphers the omens on the Foldartal for you. You get a feeling her narration style is quite strange, perhaps too blunt, so much so that... you feel scared for no apparent reason.
Result Collapse +2, random Foldartal; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Ask for healing
IS-Event Collapse Down.png
Lower Collapse Value by 2
Outcome She grips your hand and whispers a prayer. You fear that your life will dry up like the trees in the wilderness, but as you listen to her voice, you actually feel increasingly calm, and relax. Just what exactly did she pray to? She smiles when faced with the question, and does not answer.
Result Collapse -2; leaves the Encounter

Vacation Spot

IS-A Warm House.png
There is still no precise answer as to why someone would invest in a resort in such a harsh and cold place like Sami. But in fact, business is booming here, and the owner is making a fortune. Additionally, as one of the research team's sponsors, he is happy to let your tired team members rest here free of charge for a night and indulge in the pleasures of Sami.
Option Check in
IS-Event Get LP.png
Restore all Life Points
Outcome Ice lake fishing, bonfire parties, and cabin saunas, especially cabin saunas! Your people at last understand why this place is so popular. On the next day, as the team prepares to leave, everyone agrees to return here after the trip and live it up.
Result Fully restores Life Points; leaves the Encounter

Wilderness Survival Expert

IS-Forest Depths.png
A lone explorer covered in dirt and grime asks you for today's date, and you hear him count the years in a whisper before he violently slaps himself in the face. "Whatever, I made it back alive." He mumbles a few Columbian expletives. "And who tricked you into coming here? Want me to pass on a message?"
Option 1 Give a small token of appreciation
IS-Event Get Rec Voucher.png
Lose 2 Originium Ingots, but recruit one Operator (from a selection of 2 random classes)
Outcome "Shiny new coins! Much newer than my gear at the very least! Nothing compared to my paycheck, but I bet those people think I've gone missing anyway!"
He then assures you that these few coins are enough to keep him alive for his bike trip back to his warm apartment, and he'll help you make a few phone calls too.

Option 2 Give a large reward as thanks
Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png
Lose 4 Originium Ingots, but recruit an Operator from any Class
(Requires 4 Originium Ingots, Anti-Interference Index above 2)
Outcome He suddenly looks solemn and shares the results of his extensive expedition with you.
"Technically, these are confidential Rhine Lab secrets, but you're a nice person, so I hope you can get home alive too." After repeatedly urging you to be careful on your journey, he assures you that the funds you gave him are enough for him to safely reach his expedition base in the south.
Result -4 Originium Ingot icon.png, Elite HR Dispatch Letter.png Elite HR Dispatch Letter; leaves the Encounter
Option 3 Wish him well
IS-Event Leave.png
Trust that sincerity will move him
Outcome "You're right, luck does prove very useful in Sami."
He jots down your message on a piece of scrap paper, stuffs it into his backpack, and lets out a few more expletives as he leaves. You remember the name he's been cursing, and it seems to be... the Director of Rhine Lab's Scientific Investigation Section?

Wounded Prime Tree

IS-Travel with the Trees.png
Holding a clan migration is uncommon to the Sami, but by no means unheard of. You are now in the midst of a migrating Sami tribe, their clan tree making long and huge strides, starting and stopping as it unceasingly waits for its clansmen and their livestock to come along. These tribespeople look exhausted but still greet you politely. Their snowpriest has already agreed to tell you about their experience so far.
Option 1 Ask about road conditions ahead
IS-Event Get Index.png
Gain 1 Anti-Interference Index
Outcome The snowpriest is open with you, and tells you everything she knows. When the conversation ends, she wishes you good luck and says that she believes that all of you will "make the prophecy come true."
Result Anti-Interference Index +1; leaves the Encounter
Option 2 Gaze at the clan tree
IS-Event Get Index.png
Raise Collapse Value by 3, but gain 2 Anti-Interference Index
Outcome Suddenly, you feel dizzy and your vision seems to be clouded by a layer of shimmering stars. Your energy is also rapidly draining. The snowpriest clutches your shoulders with both hands, and you come back to your senses. She solemnly urges you to "look steadily forward" on the journey, and tells you a ton of useful information about the area ahead. In subsequent conversations, you wisely avoid bringing up the clan tree as a topic.
Result Collapse +3, Anti-Interference Index +2; leaves the Encounter

Prophecies

Crossing Sami's Arm

This Prophecy will always appear as node #5 of 5F.
IS-Answering the Earth.png
The research team walks up the mountain ridge, the land behind gradually fading away. The distant scenery is shrouded with wind and snow, and the only thing nearby is a single path with no end in sight. You and your teammates are walking in between, not knowing where you have come from or where you are going, merely repeating the advancement of this journey. The mountain gale roars, the falling snow rumbles, and nature questions the group—
"Do you still wish to proceed?"
Option 1 Proceed
IS-Event Unknown.png
Nothing can stop us!
Outcome It is obvious that the environment can no longer stop mankind's footsteps, and so the mountain range raises a peak in front of everyone. Sami wishes to understand your determination.
Result Nothing special; leaves the Prophecy
Option 2 Put on the helmet
IS-Event Unknown.png
Hold the Treescar Helm with firm resolve
(Requires Treescar Helm)
Outcome A warrior's determination is unquestionable, and Sami knows this. And so the wind and snow slowly disperse. In the distance, as far as the eye can see, the darkness becomes increasingly distinct.
Result Changes the 5F Dreadful Foe into Sami's Entropy; leaves the Prophecy

Pessimist's Cage

This Prophecy will appear on the next floor after the player has obtained the Routeweave Net.png Routeweave Net, always preceded by an Emergency Operation and on the bottom path, and may appear in place of Crossing Sami's Arm, usually on the bottom path.
IS-Flower Awaiting Soil.png
The route Valarqvin drew for you leads you to a huge cave. There are no light sources at all, and Valarqvin stops you from any attempt to light a lamp or turn on a flashlight. All you can do is hold her hand and move forward step by step. When you finally see light again, you spot an altar with a flower atop: rootless, blooming, and incomparably sharp. Many Cyclopes are sitting around the altar, and they are silent as they "stare" at the flower in front of them. "Your path will be darker than the one you have just traveled," Valarqvin says to herself. "If you can still walk, then pick up the flower." As she utters the very last word, all the Cyclopes look towards you.
Option 1 Hold the altar flower
Boundless Gift.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome You reach out to hold it. But you don't even manage to touch it. You try to focus your mind on the flower, but soon feel your head spinning... You try many methods to move the flower even a bit, but it is all in vain—and just as your head is in chaos, its roots take hold in your mind. "Virtual earth, a rootless flower, the key to the other side," Valarqvin mumbles to herself. You still don't manage to touch the flower, but its position relative to you is fixed. You can "take" it "away." The Cyclopes raise their heads and whisper as they watch you and Valarqvin leave.

IS-Cooperative Undertaking.png
By the time your squad arrives at the camp, everything else is already ready. You hand Kal'tsit the materials, and she separates them before distributing them to every department. As the instruments sound, the scientists take their positions, and the gigantic megastructure restoration project officially begins. In phase one, expeditioners have to clean up the Collapsals and eradicate their influence on the ring-shaped megastructure.
Option 1 Ignore Collapsal contamination

Shattered Omen

This Prophecy can only be made to appear by declaring Foldartal-Scar.png Scar and Foldartal-Void.png Void, which will change the next node (of the player's choice, if there are multiple) into this Prophecy.
IS-Hero's Helmet.png
The Foldartal leads you to the location of the Treescar. His clan looks to have just gone through a terrible battle, and everyone seems to have some sort of injury. But there is no one groaning or cursing. They are like the forest itself: silent, and yet powerful. You wish to go up and talk to him, and hand him the Foldartal. But after he sees the woodcut in your hands from afar, he orders the warriors to rise and continue marching across the snowfield. All that is left for you is a messy camp.
Option 1 Search the camp
Treescar Helm.png
Obtain Collectible
Outcome They take most of their supplies as they leave, but you find the Treescar's helmet in his tent. A Sami warrior leaving their helmet behind as they go off to fight means that they are determined to die in battle. IS-Befriending Trees.png
"Listen to me, my dear friend..." Far away from a tribal bonfire gathering, you see a Sami man drinking alone with his arm around a tree. He sees you approaching, and asks the tree beside him with an evasive look in his eyes: "Do you mind getting to know a stranger? No? Alright."
Option 1 Join them
IS-Event Unknown.png
Have a drink, and we'll all become friends
Outcome He tells the story of a warrior in his tribe who sacrificed himself, but halfway through you realize the man he mentions is actually "alive" in the tribe. Whether it be from the alcohol or the story, you find yourself starting to sweat.
OR
As your tongue experiences a marvelous flavor, you slightly regret drinking the wine so quickly... You want to complain about how unpleasant it is to drink this type of wine, but your drinking partner doesn't even look up at your face, and only clumsily pours you another drink.
OR
He tells the story of a bedridden elder in the tribe who was picked up by a hornbeast and spent his last moments in the highest reaches of the forest. After he finishes his tale, he pats the tree beside him, and asks it to lift him up too before he dies, and take him someplace high to look at the sun.
OR
He tells the story of a Columbian trader passing by the tribe who had an unfortunate encounter with a tuskbeast. You follow the direction he mentions and find one of the trader's goods under the snow, but the obvious traces of Sami spells left nearby raise your suspicions.
OR
When you regain consciousness, you find yourself curled up in a ball on the ground, and the only thing you remember is that you seem to have drunk too much in one go. The Sami man throws a quick glance at you, tosses something over, and then turns back to continue his chat with the tree.

Entrance to the Abyss

IS-Unknown Hole Survey.png
The research team has found a large and deep cave. It looks like a regular cavern, and looking down you can see a variety of strange plants and symbols. The team members are extremely excited, and hope to get your permission to use the Survey Equipment to probe the cave's extremities.
Option 1A Let's give it a try
IS-Event Unknown.png
Connect the cables well, and slowly lower the survey equipment
Outcome Nothing much appears on the display other than a flat and smooth wall. The team members are clueless as to why.
OR
Some plants you've never seen before appear on the display. They are clinging to the rock walls, entangled each other in a mesh-like formation, and seem to be patching up the hole. Some of the team members are already thinking of the economic value they could generate.
OR
Some irregular bumps on the rocky surface appear on the display. Mucus-like secretions are gushing out of these bumps, flowing down the rock wall. Some of the team members record the relative position of the survey equipment and take some samples of the secretions.
OR
A bunch of symbols in an unfamiliar style appear on the display. These symbols flicker on and off, maintaining a steady rhythm like breathing. Some of the team members take out their notebooks and begin to ponder the symbols' meaning.

Northwizard Cup

IS-Puppet Battle.png
Every clan is here! Even those who have stumbled in are welcome. After sharing a number of stories, jokes, and treesap juice, the Sami suddenly fall silent as a few men clearly dressed like snowpriests solemnly walk into the woods. The Sami host of this gathering approaches you and asks in a methodical tone if you would like to "choose a fighter." Behind him is a group of grotesque "giants" being driven out of the woods by the snowpriests.

The puppet you chose has won! The host laughs heartily as they give you your prize, this time with more edible agglomerates and gels.
OR
Foldartal sigils appear on the clay palms of "Hothands Sidan"! They're clearly radiating heat! Its fiery fists slap the stuffing out of "Othermetal Azag," sending sparks everywhere! OR

The puppet you chose has won! Almost no one else here expected this result! The young girl controlling "Old Björn" heaves a sigh of relief. "She just took over the reins recently, but she's done such a great job!" The host shouts as they hand you the grand prize, their voice almost drowned out by the roar of the audience.
OR
For just a moment, you think your chosen battle puppet is going to win, but "Gatekeeper Helma" uses its ability to lift the snow and dirt off the ground, and ultimately comes out on top. The host shrugs at you before approaching with a smile, waiting for you to speak.
