Collapse is a value that measures how much the reality has been warped by the Collapsals, which influences the Collapse Level that would harshly affect the run's environment if it is ever allowed to rise high enough.
Overview
Players start a run with 0 Collapse, which increases by the following:
- Choices in certain events (varies with the event)
- The following Collectibles:
- Boundless Gift (+3)
- Full-Auto Maintenance Station (+2)
- Losing Life Point(s) in an operation (+1, which is accounted for at the result screen)
- This penalty further increases by 1 on Braving Nature +3 onward, and by 2 with the Eternal Hunting Squad.
- Entering 2F onward (+3, or +4 on Braving Nature +15).
“ | Foldartals and some Collectibles can reduce your Collapse value. Dropping your Collapse value by a level will remove your most recently acquired Collapsal Paradigm. | ” |

Collapse can be reduced by the following:
- Certain Encounters
- The following Collectibles:
- Universal Key (-1 for the α variant, -2 for the γ variant)
- Warning Fence and "Heavy Music Anthology" (-2)
- Wandering Caster's Nostalgia (-3 when entering the secret floor)
- With Eternal Hunting Squad, clearing an operation without losing LP reduces Collapse by 2.
- Declaring Foldartals reduce Collapse by 1.
The Collapse Level is represented by a black half ring under the Anti-Interference Index. The higher the Collapse Level is, the blurrier the half ring will be, which will also affect the edges of the screen at Collapse Level 3 onward.

Collapsal Paradigms
Collapsal Paradigms are similar to Hallucinations and Calls of We Many in previous themes, but all of them are completely detrimental and serves to make the run harder than ever before although they are manageable to a degree. Whenever the Collapse Level rises, a Paradigm will either be gained or intensified if one already gained, amplifying its danger. Conversely, whenever the Collapse Level falls, a Paradigm will either be lost or diminished if one is intensified.
Up to four Collapsal Paradigms will ever occur in a run; as the Collapse Level is capped at 8, this means that there can be four intensified Paradigms at most.

These Paradigms are less likely to be gained than the other Paradigms and are not listed in the Winter Nights Exhibition Hall until actually gained. However, take caution that these Paradigms are very hazardous due to the visual disruption they provides which could make things impossibly difficult.

Tips
- Compared to losing Light in Mizuki & Caerula Arbor, gaining Collapse is not as punishing as the Collapse Level has specific thresholds, meaning that if the player knows what they are doing, one can avoid getting Collapsal Paradigms quite easily. Most of the Paradigms themselves can also be counteracted without too much difficulty.
