The first iteration of Ambience Synesthesia in 2021 was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in May 2 and 3. It was first teased during the CN server's 1.5th anniversary in November 2020.
AS2021 features four new songs fictionally performed by a selection of Operators:
- The Song of Long Voyage, a "Western" style orchestral composition performed by Angelina, Amiya, Hellagur, Schwarz, Shining, Silence and Sussurro.
- Lights and Dreams, a traditional Chinese style orchestral composition performed by Aak, Ch'en, FEater, Leizi and Shaw.
- CanNot Wait For, a rock song played by Bagpipe, Blaze, Courier, Vigna, and W.
- ManiFesto, a hip-hop/rap song performed by Emperor, Ethan, Lappland, Indra, and Siege.
AS2021 also featured several other songs from the Arknights soundtrack and the special appearances of Starset and DJ OKAWARI.
A video recording of AS2021 was uploaded to Bilibili on June 12 and only available for premium members. This version omits Starset's Unbecoming, which is instead released separately alongside Infected and Monster.
