Etymology
Szubat comes from the Sumerian and Akkadian word šubat or šubtu (𒆜𒆸), meaning "dwelling,"[1] and arsalan (ارسلان) is a Persian word of Turkish origin meaning "lion."[2] Hence, it has the meaning as "Dwelling of the Lions." The name itself is based on Shubat-Enlil, "the residence of the god Enlil," an archaeological site in northern Syria that is now known as Tell Leilan.
