The Eyes of Iberia were lighthouses which dotted the coastline of Iberia.

Background

Built with Aegirian technology under the supervision of Breogan, the Eyes of Iberia allowed the Iberian Grand Armada to navigate its way through the unknown seas, propelling Iberia to its Golden Age. They once acted as signal towers for the ships to overcome the difficulty of celestial navigation caused by the Starpod.[1] But when the Profound Silence struck Iberia, all the Eyes were destroyed by the tsunami except one. Many Aegir who took part in the Eyes' construction were imprisoned or executed by the Iberian Inquisition, with Breogan himself being lynched to death by an angry mob who blamed him for "inviting the Silence."[2]

By the time Arknights takes place, only the Eye of Iberia near Gran Faro remains functional, but it has since become a Seaborn nest. At one point, the Iberian government attempted to reactivate Gran Faro's Eye of Iberia. However, the company company of Penal Battalion and three Inquisitors sent to clear the Eye from the Seaborn were killed, leaving only a single survivor, and the plan was put on hold indefinitely.

During the hunt for the Stultifera Navis, Gran Faro's Eye of Iberia was reactivated with help from Jordi Fontanarossa, whose parents were among its builders. It also turned out that the lost ship had been close to the Eye the entire time, having sent distress signals for over six decades that were picked up by the Eye's signal receivers.
