The Originium Shard is a trading material in Arknights.

Item description
An Originium shard collected from polluted regions. Can be used to produce Orundum.

An Originium shard collected from heavily contaminated regions. Anyone who touches it has a high chance to get infected and even mutate. Therefore, it is a hazardous material as indicated in the Columbia CDC toxicity database.

Usage[edit]

Already a hazardous material itself, directly extracting Originium from Originium-rich areas are a highly risky procedure even for Rhodes Island, due to the obvious risk of Oripathy via exposure. Regardless, shards of Originium extracted this way are valuable for R.I.'s recruitment procedure through trade with Rim Billiton.

Originium Shards are traded for Orundum Orundum in Level 3 Trading Posts by completing Orundum trade orders which is available once the said Trading Post's business strategy is changed to Orundum trade with RIM Billiton; each Orundum trade order exchanges 2 Originium Shards for 20 Orundum icon.png in 2:00:00 (not counting operators' Orundum productivity skills).

How to obtain[edit]

Originium Shards can only be produced at Factories, having two different formulae which only affects the required materials:

Unless the player has a great deal of LMD LMD and materials, and has developed their Operators enough, it is inadvisable to produce Originium Shards, as the player must farm the materials with their Sanity Sanity, which is best spent for other needs.
