Castle of Dreams

The Castle of Dreams is a rather mysterious organization, possibly a charity group, with a fairytale-esque background. Currently, the only clue regarding the organization was its connection with the mythological "Moving Castle" where any children may come into the Castle through their dreams.[1] The "Moving Castle" comes from a particular Gaulish folklore which narrates about King Charles the "Mad King" constructing the first nomadic city ever found in historical record despite the lack of archeological findings. His story later inspired future generations to realize his mad dream.[2]

"Granny"/"Grandmother": An old Feline woman, possibly Iris' grandmother, and the previous owner of the Castle. She is noted to love reading the storybook, Geoffrey's New Fairy Tales, and acts as Bena's adoptive guardian.[3][4][5] She is not to be confused with the "Grandma", the Signore dei Lupi who raised Projekt Red.
  • Castle of Dreams Keeper.png
An unnamed Cautus boy and one of the Castle's attendants who keeps the castle in Iris' absence together with Bena.[6] On Bena's insistence, the Cautus later took her into Rhodes Island and leaves her under their care.[4]
  • Jurian: An Infected Feline suffering from Peter Pan syndrome, having the mindset of an 8-year old child despite physically being a young adult. His playmates are inanimate objects including a lidless teapot named "Audrey", a necklace named "Ronnie", and a building block named "Peewee", and he has a latent Arts capability. He was taken in by his uncle Raymond Bernard to live in an orphanage with him when he was physically still a child too, but he is separated from the other children after contacting Oripathy that makes him struggle to control his arts. Jurian worries that he was separated because he did something wrong, and warns Iris and Bena to stay away from him because he's a bad child. Iris invites him to come live in the Castle of Dreams, where he will work as a guide who welcomes visitors.[7]

King's Wand

The King's Wand is a student group comprising of five members whose goal is to bring equality to the Infected. It is a core member of Foxtail, a non-governmental organization for Originium Arts research and led by Councilor Angst, an influential Member of Parliament.

The name of the King's Wand comes from a historical role in ancient Victoria. In the past, a "King's Wand" is a sage who assisted the king by spreading their knowledge. In modern times where sages no longer play a role thanks to the widespread of modern education, this student group hopes to revitalize the classical chivalry of the sages by helping the weak and educate the populace.[8]

The King's Wand has a complicated view of the Infected. In Terran year 1095, they encountered a local Reunion group in Gododdin's territory when an Infected accidentally killed the Wand's pet, and the incident eventually grew into a devastating riot. As a result, they sought cooperation with Rhodes Island in retaliation against this rebellious Infected group.[9] On the other hand, they succeeded in implementing rights for the Infected at the city of Caladon by using their professor's name.

  • Shiro (しろ): A Higashinese scholar and member of the King's Wand, they were the one who gifted their sword to Shichiyou. It is said that the sword belonged to a sword master skillful enough to slice a sakura tree, yet they were no match for Shiro, and thus they had to surrender the sword.[10]
  • Shichiyou (しちよう): Another Higashinese scholar and member. Their sword was gifted by Shiro.[10]

Witch Forest

The Witch Forest was a Victorian occult society conformed by a band of local Casters dwelling inside a dark forest called the "Grey Hills". They were known for taking in Infected Casters as their members unconditionally, but in Terran year 1092, the Witches refuse political negotiation with the Eight Grand Dukes.[11] As retaliation, the Grand Dukes dispatched several Victorian soldiers to raid the Grey Hills and bombarded the place with cannonballs to burn it down.[12][13] Since then, the Forest became a shadow of the past, with their surviving traditions no longer being meaningful.

  • Great Witch Grant: A Witch Forest member briefly mentioned by Haze, described as "gentle"[13]
  • Minnie: A young, Infected Feline girl and acquaintance of Haze. Under the Witch Forest's invitation ceremony held by Haze, she nominally became a Witch and was granted a ring that could be used to cast Originium Arts.[13] Before leaving, Haze entrusted her knowledge to Minnie, hoping she would use it for good.[13]

Haze is stated to be the 113th member of the Witch Forest, as well as its last surviving original member. As mentioned above, Minnie was nominally chosen by Haze to become a Witch, thus continuing their legacy.

Royal Academy of Sciences

The Royal Academy of Sciences is a state-owned university dedicated to promote the development of science and commend outstanding scientists. True to its name, the academy receives funds and protection from the King of Victoria.

The academy was originally founded in the year 730 by a group of fifteen sages, or scholars in modern terms, affiliating the "Natural Philosophy Society," one of the most famous intellectual groups in Londinium at the time. Seven years later in 737, it was rebranded under the King's decree, and would retain its royal sponsorship until the popular uprising of 1072 that overthrew the last Aslan King. Since then, the Parliament has become its temporary benefactor.[14]

The alumni and researchers are known as "Academicians," which is the highest prestige a Victorian researcher can get. At the same time, the institute awards five academic titles every year. And because the academy is officially without a schoolmaster, the conductors of important projects are often chosen through election.[14]
