Specter the Unchained is the alternate version of Specter who is a 6★ Dollkeeper Specialist specializing in DPS and Fast-Redeploy, and only available from the Celebration limited headhunting banners starting from Here I Stand; until then, she is only available in Abyss Corrosion. Being limited banners, the "pity" system from other banners are not carried over to every Celebration banner, but to compensate that, the Unchained has a 70% chance in Abyss Corrosion and a 30% chance in Here I Stand, By My Will, and Our Kind to be the 6★ Operator that appears in a pull and can be purchased at the Certificate Store for 300 while Abyss Corrosion and other Celebration banners starting from Here I Stand is up.

Being an alter Operator, the Unchained is subject to the following mechanics:

• Both Specter and the Unchained shares the same Trust, but have different Potential, skills (as well as separate skill upgrades/Specialization training), talent, and base skills (as well as separate morale).
• Both Specter and the Unchained have their own outfits and dialogues, and are available separately as the player's Assistant.
• Both Specter and the Unchained can be present in one squad or the RIIC at the same time.

As a Dollkeeper Specialist, when the Unchained's HP is reduced to 0, she is not knocked out, but rather, a "Substitute" of herself (actually Laurentina's old "Specter" persona which takes control when she suffers heavy physical/mental trauma) will take the Unchained's place for 20 seconds, after which she returns to the map in the Substitute's place with full HP. However, the Substitute cannot block enemies and if it is defeated, the Unchained will be KO'd and has to be redeployed all over again!

Talents

• Embraced Self has the Substitute deal Arts damage equal to a portion of the Unchained's ATK to surrounding enemies every second and reduces their movement speed.
• Ægir's Depths buffs the maximum HP of Abyssal Hunters Operators while the Unchained is deployed.

Skills

Keep in mind that the Unchained's skills will not be carried over to her Substitute.

1. The Skill to Survive switches the Unchained's current HP percentage with that of the friendly unit with the lowest HP percentage in the surrounding tiles when activated, and buffs her ATK while active.
2. The Thirst to Survive buffs the Unchained's ATK and ASPD, and prevents her HP from being reduced to 0 while active. When The Thirst to Survive expires, the Unchained will be KO'd (thus she will immediately switch to her Substitute).
   • Unlike the original Specter's Bone Fracture which functions similarly, the Unchained deals more damage to a single enemy instead of two or three with The Thirst to Survive.
   • When The Thirst to Survive ends, the Substitute's MSPD reduction can provide more time for the damage dealers to clear the remaining enemies until the Unchained returns.
3. The Pressure to Survive buffs the Unchained's maximum HP and ATK, and makes her attacks hit multiple targets equal to her block count and deals an additional instance of Physical damage equal to a portion of her ATK when she attacks enemies whose HP percentage is above her but causes the Unchained to lose some HP when she attacks enemies whose HP percentage is below her, and increases her attack interval while active.
   • To maintain the Unchained's HP at a low level, use Aak or Warfarin's Unstable Plasma to drain her HP, then use appropriate healers (Bard Supporters, Gladiia due to her Waves of Ægir, Lancet-2, Lumen, Shining, or Blemishine).
   • The Pressure to Survive is perfect for enemies with very high HP and the "right" amount of output. One may also choose to deploy healers after her HP is low to maximize her damage. The HP loss itself is trivial, but can be triggered multiple times when attacking multiple enemies who met the condition.

Operator Module

The Unchained's Modules either improves her Substitute's offensive and crowd-controlling prowess or further supports her fellow Abyssal Hunters.

1. The PUM-X Module, "Vinyl Record" Box, increases the Substitute's ATK by 15% in addition to the Unchained's maximum HP and ATK. Once upgraded, the Substitute's damage and MSPD reduction is increased, and the Unchained will restore some SP when she takes the Substitute's place.
   • "Vinyl Record" Box works best with The Thirst to Survive, as she will switch to her Substitute very often with it, letting her utilize the improved Substitute more often.
   • With the "Vinyl Record" Box at Stage 3, the Unchained's Substitute deals as much DPS as Ifrit's Scorched Earth and can clear out hordes of enemies without much trouble, while the extra SP on switching back lets her use The Thirst to Survive more. As such, this should be her go-to Module.
2. The PUM-Y Module, The Beauty in the Incomplete, increases the Substitute maximum HP by 15% in addition to the Unchained's maximum HP, ATK (though less than "Vinyl Record" Box), and DEF. Once upgraded, Ægir's Depths' maximum HP buff is increased and it also increases the automatic SP recovery rate of Abyssal Hunters Operators.
   • The Beauty in the Incomplete works best with The Pressure to Survive, as the increased max HP helps her avoid switching to the Substitute which is much weaker without the "Vinyl Record" Box module, and the SP recovery buff reduces The Pressure to Survive's cooldown significantly.
   • The Beauty in the Incomplete can be more preferred if the player intend to use all Abyssal Hunters Operators to maximize the HP and SP recovery buff's effectiveness.

Base skills

The Unchained's base skills improve Specialists' Specialization Training efficiency while she is assigned as the trainer in the Training Room.

1. Specialist Expert α speeds up the skill Specialization training by 30%. At Elite 2, Specialist Expert α becomes Ægir Tactics which speeds up the Specialization training further by 65% if it is for Specialization Level 3.
2. War Fever increases the Unchained's morale drain rate by 1 per hour while a Specialist's Specialization Level 3 training is in progress.

Summary

For her extreme rarity, Specter the Unchained is an excellent Dollkeeper Specialist who could utilize the Substitute to continue fighting even in situations where death is certain to inflict as much damage to the enemy as possible, usually to weaken them for the other Operators.

She may no longer be a deranged nun as she were in the past, but Specter the Unchained's sheer refusal to die will be the bane of everyone who dare oppose her.
