Trivia: Outfit

General

  • Out of all outfit brands, EPOQUE has the most outfits while Whistlewind has the least of only one.
  • Before Among the Luminaries, Amiya, Astesia, Exusiai, Jessica, and Suzuran have the most outfits, tied at three. After Among the Luminaries, Amiya have the most outfits with the release of Touch the Stars, at four.
    • Because Among the Luminaries is exclusive to the CN server, this distinction is collectively applied to Amiya, Astesia, Exusiai, Goldenglow, Jessica, SilverAsh, and Suzuran (all of whom have three outfits) in the Global and TW servers instead.
    • Out of Suzuran's three outfits, two of them coincide with collaboration events (Spring Praise with It's Been A While; Yukibare with A Flurry to the Flame).
    • SilverAsh is the only male Operator with three outfits, with his Never-Melting Ice also being the first Ambience Synesthesia outfit with dynamic art.
  • Out of 6★ Operators introduced with the release of Arknights, Eyjafjalla is the one with the longest period of time without outfit, at two years, and the last one to receive an outfit. This becomes a meme in the Global community of Arknights which extends to other 6★ Operators who did not yet receive an outfit.
  • Both EPOQUE and Bloodline of Combat outfits are worn during the Operator's past or future. While the latter mostly focuses on the future, there are some that focus on the past such as Octopath Illusion and Wind of Breaking Blade. There are even some B.o.C outfits focus on different timelines such as Sublimation and Remnant.
  • While being Chinese costume-centered, Made by 0011 and 0011/Yun have different focus. The former is on qipao and other festival or xianxia/wuxia costumes, whereas the latter is on authentic traditional costumes such as hanfu, changshan, qizhuang, etc.
  • Welfare Operators often receive their outfits at their event reruns. There are also some reruns which does not include new outfits such as Dossoles Holiday and in certain cases such as Stultifera Navis where Skadi received the outfit meant for Lumen, who received his outfit as part of Ambience Synesthesia 2023 already.

Brands

  • Cambrian is a geological era that marks the beginning of all complex lives. This fits well to it being the first released in-game of all the brands.
    • The Cambrian Series' logo shows a nautilus, the only surviving cephalopod with an outer shell that dates back to the Cambrian era.
  • EPOQUE is a reference to the Belle Époque, known as the French golden age.
    • The brand itself is likely a reference to Armani.
  • The Made by 0011's logo is a stylized Hanzi of 秊 (Pinyin: nián), which is a variant character of 年, meaning "year."
  • The logo of 0011/Yun is 韵 (Pinyin: yùn), literally the brand's name meaning "fine tune," written in the cursive script (chaoshu).
  • MARTHE is a reference to Adidas (but stylized in upper case instead of lower case), which can be seen from its nearly identical logo (only reversed and missing the triangle), the fact that it originates from Kazdel which contains German/Yiddish elements, the nation where Adidas is based on in our world, and it mostly caters to sportswear.
    • The fact that MARTHE's outfits are popular in Ursus might be a subtle reference to the gopnik subculture in Russia which is typically associated with Adidas tracksuits.
  • The Witch Feast, originally a female-only Sarkaz religious festival, that gives the name for the eponymous outfit is likely a blend of both the witch tradition seen in Halloween and the Chag Habanot (חַג הָבָּנוֹת), also known as the Girls' Day, celebrated among some Mizrahi and Maghrebi Jewish communities.
  • The "messenger" mentioned in the Icefield Messenger brand's description is obviously an analogue to Santa Claus in our world.
  • The three EPOQUE outfits released during A Flurry to the Flame are heavily Japanese-themed, notably their furisode-inspired clothing. This is likely meant to parallel the Hinamatsuri that is usually held in March to match CF's release in the CN server.
    • All three of their costumes' names are rendered in Japanese, and surprisingly, the artists who drew the three Operators mentioned are native Japanese as well.
  • Bloodline of Combat series are mainly released on Anniversaries like 1st Anniversary Celebration, Under Tides, Stultifera Navis and Lone Trail.
  • Unveiling of Devotion series is inspired by the Valentine's Day celebration.
