Kirin R Yato is the alternate 6★ version of Yato who is an Executor Specialist specializing in Fast-Redeploy and Nuker, and only available from the Sharpened by Flame limited headhunting banner, part of A Flurry to the Flame — the crossover between Monster Hunter and Arknights. Being a limited banner, the "pity" system from other banners are not carried over to Sharpened by Flame and unlike in other limited banners, Kirin R Yato has a 50% chance to be the 6★ Operator that appears in a pull as in regular banners; to compensate that, she is guaranteed to appear in any of the first 120 pulls within the banner.

Being an alter Operator, Kirin R Yato is subject to the following mechanics:

  • Both Yato and her Kirin R version shares the same Trust, but have different Potential, skills (as well as separate skill upgrades/Mastery training), talent, and base skills (as well as separate morale).
  • Both Yato and her Kirin R version have their own outfits and dialogues, and are available separately as the player's Assistant.
  • Both Yato and her Kirin R version can be present in one squad or the RIIC at the same time.

As an Executor Specialist, Kirin R Yato has a base redeployment time of just 18 seconds instead of other Operators' 70–80 seconds; combined with her low DP cost of 8 (10 at Elite 1), Yato can be deployed, retreated, and deployed over and over again every time the situation calls for it.

Talents

  1. Kirin Bolts causes Kirin R Yato's attacks to deal an additional instance of Arts damage equal to a small portion of her ATK.
    • Kirin Bolts allow Yato to perform better against enemies with high DEF where other Executors would struggle (besides Texas the Omertosa which deals Arts damage).
  2. Archdemon Mode buffs Kirin R Yato's ATK while her skill is active, which lingers for 10 seconds after her skill expires.

Skills

  1. Demon Mode buffs Kirin R Yato's ASPD and causes her attack to deliver two hits for the next 20 seconds, with the third one against a single target while Demon Mode is active delivering six hits instead.
    • Demon Mode is best used if the player wants Yato to be a single-target assassin, much like all Executors.
  2. Blade Dance has Kirin R Yato launch sixteen slashes at enemies in front of her with higher ATK and Arts damage from Kirin Bolts and Taunts enemies, which cannot be interrupted (e.g. by Stunning Yato).
    • Blade Dance is a highly versatile skill thanks to it being able to deliver absolutely ridiculous mixed damage to multiple targets within an extremely short duration (at Elite 2 Level 90 and maxed out Blade Dance and Training Stakes (see Operator Modules), Kirin R Yato with Blade Dance deals 17764 Physical + 3553 Arts damage before DEF/RES are accounted for), while the immunity to disabling effects prevents Blade Dance from being interrupted (though she can still be knocked out during it especially with the increased aggression).
  3. Midair Spinning Blade Dance has Kirin R Yato dash up to two tiles ahead which can go past another Operator or an obstacle/wall (during which she is invulnerable), slashing enemies (including aerial ones) in her path for higher damage with each enemy struck this way extending the dash distance, up to five tiles ahead.
    • Midair Spinning Blade Dance serves as a rather versatile, formidably damaging burst DPS skill against an incoming horde of enemies, making her suitable in operations featuring flying enemies (should there be an available melee tile). Notably, large enemies such as Sal Viento Bishop Quintus are actually treated as multiple targets, thus allowing Midair Spinning Blade Dance to deal even more damage.
    • The choice of whether Blade Dance or Midair Spinning Blade Dance is better is nuanced; Midair Spinning Blade Dance is much more difficult to use optimally than Blade Dance, deals less single-target damage on paper, but handles high-DEF enemies better (as it deals higher damage per hit), can hit aerial enemies, has a much larger area-of-effect (most notably being able to dash through walls), and Yato is completely invulnerable opposed to just being immune to disabling effects allowing it to be used in much more dangerous situations.

Operator Module

The EXE-X Module, Training Stakes, refunds 80% of Kirin R Yato's current DP cost when she is retreated in addition to increasing her maximum HP, ATK, and DEF. Once upgraded, Archdemon Mode's ATK buff is increased, especially while the skill is active.

Base skills

Kirin R Yato's base skills provide various bonuses while she is assigned to the Control Center.

  1. Endurance Recovery provides 8 Felvines but increases Kirin R Yato's morale drain rate by 0.5 per hour.
  2. Leading by Example increases Factories' productivity by 2% (which does not stack with similar base skills) while there is at least one other Monster Hunter Party Operator in the Control Center.

Summary

For her extreme rarity, Kirin R Yato has an absurd damage potential, and almost every team will appreciate her ability to essentially erase enemies in one deployment. She is notably more versatile when compared to most Executors, primarily specializing in taking out multiple targets with outstanding efficiency.

It is safe to say that being a senior Operator finally pays off—in fact, Yato went on from a largely situational 2★ Operator to one of the best 6★ Operators!
