<Game paused> | |
Jessica | Instructor Dobermann, instructions for further action, please... |
Dobermann | ...... |
Jessica | Instructor Dobermann! |
Dobermann | I... I'm fine. Let's get started with today's training mission. Be wary of hollows in the ground! [The surface made up of metal strips are highlighted] The nomadic city of Kazdel is far from structurally sound, and employs numerous Transverse Plates to fix itself together. Operators cannot be directly deployed to these Transverse Plates, and will need Operators deployed on regular tiles to provide assistance. |
Jessica | Wow, it's so high up here. Instructor Dobermann, are you okay? You look... |
Dobermann | I'm fine... begin the exercise. |
<Game unpaused> | |
A "Flying Boots" Mercenary appears and circles around the Transverse Plates.
| |
<Game paused> | |
Jessica | Hostile spotted. Moving at high speed toward the Objective Point! |
Dobermann | [The only high ground tile on the map is highlighted] Jessica, stay calm. Kroos, get to your deployment point, then pass the Stabilizer Chain to me! |
<Game unpaused> | |
Kroos is deployed on the high ground tile, followed by Dobermann on the Transverse Plate in her right. Notice an orange chain connecting them.
| |
<Game paused> | |
Jessica is available for deployment.
| |
Dobermann | [The player is prompted to place Jessica on the high ground Transverse Plate] Jessica, Kroos is in position. Proceed to your designated coordinates now. <The player places Jessica> [The player is prompted to set Jessica's direction to the left] Deploy to the left and prepare to engage. <The player sets Jessica's direction> |
<Game unpaused> | |
Jessica is deployed, and another orange chain connects her and Kroos. She and Kroos engages the Flying Boots, who dodged their attacks.
| |
<Game paused> | |
Jessica | Er, is this the Stabilizer Chain, Instructor? |
Dobermann | Yes. Shattered Transverse Plates are found all over Kazdel. Without Stabilizer Chains, Operators won't be able to engage in combat like usual. Stabilizer Chains are custom equipment for improving combat conditions. When an Operator is deployed to a Transverse Plate, the last operator deployed within a certain range will throw one Stabilizer Chain to them, ensuring stability. |
<Game unpaused> | |
The Flying Boots comes in contact with the chains connecting Kroos and Jessica, now known as a Stabilizer Chain, and is Slowed and no longer able to dodge attacks, allowing Kroos to quickly take him out.
| |
<Game paused> | |
Jessica | The enemy seemed to be slowed by the chain. |
Kroos | That's right! Stabilizer Chains can also apply special effects on enemies as a form of defense. |
Dobermann | But remember, an Operator can only hold up to two Stabilizer Chains at once. |
<Game unpaused> | |
Another Flying Boots appear, but just as he approaches the Operators, Kroos withdraws, removing the Stabilizer Chains from Jessica and Dobermann, and causing both to become unbalanced and unable to act.
| |
<Game paused> | |
Kroos | Alright, the next exercise should be improvised combat. Guess I'll retreat for now, as planned! |
Jessica | Kroos! Wait, we're still linked! |
Dobermann | Kroos, Jessica, stay close! Remember what the exercise is about! Always be mindful of your teammates' status! ...Why does it have to be so high? Deep breaths, five more seconds... Now, based on what you've learned, what should you do when your teammates are in danger? |
Fang | I know, Instructor Dobermann! [Fang is available for deployment; the player is prompted to place Fang below the Protection Objective] You didn't immediately fall into the Transverse Plate when you lost your Stabilizer Chain. Instead, you gained the status Unsteady. <The player places Fang> [The player is prompted to set Fang's direction downward] If another Operator, such as myself, is deployed on a normal plate near you in time, they'll be able to throw the Stabilizer Chain to you. <The player sets Fang's direction> |
Dobermann | Well done, Fang! |
<Game unpaused> | |
Fang is deployed and passes a Stabilizer Chain onto Dobermann, allowing her to regain her balance and engage the Flying Boots, although Jessica, who is out of Fang's reach, fell to the gaps between the Plates and are forced to retreat. The Flying Boots is eventually eliminated.
