Arknights Terra Wiki:Content policy

The content policy describes criteria and rules for all or specific types of content in the Arknights Terra Wiki.

General criterion

  • All contents must relate to the Arknights mobile game, its setting, or its related media.
  • All contents need to be accurate. Arknights Terra Wiki aims to provide reliable information. In particular, adding speculation (inferring things that are not explicitly stated by text or implied beyond any possible reasonable doubt), theories (unless if they are supported by already established information), and own inventions (fan fiction, for instance) to articles should be done under no circumstances.
  • All contents need to be verifiable. Other editors need to be able to check and verify it. Claims should have reliable citations and references. To err is human, however: if you see an affirmation that lacks citation, add {{Citation needed}}, and consider notifying the editor responsible for the claim.
  • All contents need to be informative. Information which is only of interest to the writer or to other editors (as opposed to readers) should not be included in articles.
  • All contents need to be objective and neutral/non-biased. Opinions and "my favorite"-style passages should not be added to articles.
  • All contents need to abide by copyright regulations. Generally, content from other sites should not be copied unless permission has been granted or licenses are incompatible.
  • Political content that is out-of-place or unnecessary should not be brought up. Arknights is a story that deals with political themes and uses political analogies, however one has to keep in mind that the wiki is no place to debate real-world politics. This is especially true of particularly contentious topics, and one has to keep in mind that the story is written with a biased lens, and not an accurate representation of all the countries it touches upon. No nationalism or populism will be tolerated on the wiki.
  • Whether to create page of soft elements, that is, lore-related contents, should consider their significance so that they are worth having own pages (e.g. Chernobog, Carol).
  • For future CN contents — that is, content that are yet to be released in the CN server — whose assets have been pre-loaded into the game files, uploading the subject's assets to the wiki is allowed but please refrain from actually adding the subject to the wiki until the introduction is announced by official sources. This is because doing so can be considered leaking content that are yet to be released, which may get the wiki into legal trouble.
  • Under no circumstance should sexual content or comments of a sexual nature be shared on the wiki, especially concerning underage characters. We do not care what you consider morally acceptable regarding fiction, there are many other spaces to discuss this, and this is not one of them. Sexualization of any character, period, is not permitted.
  • All content on the Arknights Terra Wiki must never be "re-added" to its predecessor on Fandom, Arknights Fandom Wiki, under any circumstances. The migration means that we have left the Fandom Wiki behind and anything that happens there no longer have anything to do with the Terra Wiki.

Specific criterion

  • When adding Operators, enemies, devices, etc. to game mechanic-related pages, those which are not yet released in the Global server should not be added until their release is announced by official sources.
    • If the game mechanic is not yet included in Global, only add the first subject who is subjected to the mechanic and those who are retroactively subjected to the mechanic, and add those introduced later when their Global release is announced.
  • In the event an unit's feature is made into a game mechanic, the page covering it may be created, but only include subjects that are subjected to the new mechanic which had been released in Global.
  • When updating the Operator Module article, do not add Modules that would be added in the upcoming update until they are actually released. This also applies to Operators who would receive new Modules.

Characters

  • Predictions on the animal or legendary creature that a character is based on must only be based on their race, physical appearance, and whether the animal/creature is explicitly visible in their Elite 2 artwork or other official promotional materials.

Gallery

  • When creating the Gallery subpage for a particular country or location, only background images that are solely used to represent that country/location should be added. Background images that are used in one instance at first but would be used again in multiple instances should instead be added to a more general category, such as Terra/Gallery.
  • Do not create unnecessary Gallery subpages for factions. For instance, the Military Commission of Kazdel should not have its own Gallery subpage as they are already covered by Kazdel.

Trivia

References to (popular) culture and other games are acceptable page content only when there are direct correlations, whether visual or textual, and should be added in the page's Trivia subpage or section, depending on the page.

Bugs and glitches

  • Only bugs and glitches which readers are likely to be interested in should be documented, i.e. those which have serious consequences, can be exploited to the player's advantage, or that most players are likely to encounter during normal gameplay. Not every little oddity needs to be mentioned.
  • Bugs/glitches encountered in a game should only be added to articles after they have been confirmed by other editors. This is to avoid cluttering the articles. To this end, post the bug/glitch on the article's talk page first and try to get confirmation.
