Tales Within the Sand: Tech Tree

Tech Tree provides various bonuses to help the player in their Tales Within the Sand campaigns. It consists of nodes that are arranged horizontally from left to right and divided into five groups:

  • Construct nodes that improves the namesake.
  • Exploration nodes that improves resource gathering.
  • Trade nodes that provide bonuses to the Trading Post.
  • Tactics nodes that provide combat bonuses.
  • Strange Territory nodes that pertains to the namesake feature.

Tech Tree nodes are unlocked by spending Tech Tree Points, awarded after the Calculation Day at a rate of 1 Tech Tree Point for every 200 points of score throughout the cycle. Some nodes require the Headquarters to be upgraded to a specific level before they can be unlocked. The Tech Tree will be completely reset when the player starts a new campaign, but all Tech Tree Points spent will be refunded.

To unlock all Tech Tree nodes, the player must spend 445 Tech Tree Points.

Complete effects
  • Construct
    • Corrals and Planting Box Groups have a 15% chance to produce twice as much yield.
    • Constructs have +45% HP, +30% DEF, and 15% Sanctuary; Buildout ones also have +20% DEF and +15 RES.
    • Repairing damaged Constructs cost -20%.
    • Friendly units in the adjacent 4 tiles to a Buildout Construct have +25% DEF.
    • Enemies in Outposts have -15 ASPD and -15% MSPD.
  • Exploration
  • Trade
    • The Trading Post has 4 additional wares; 2 bought with Crude Gold and 2 bought with Crystalline Shards, and has more items in stock.
    • The Trading Post sometimes offer a discount to the wares.
  • Tactics
    • Crabbie Pumpies' skill cost -2 SP during Cloudburst weathers.
    • Wild Beasts have -10% HP during Heatwave weathers.
    • Enemies have -10% MSPD during Windblaze weathers.
    • The Fog of War remains lifted for 12 seconds after the friendly unit leaves the map.
    • Friendly units lift the Fog of War in the surrounding 8 tiles.
    • Enemies in the Fog of War that attacked a friendly unit are revealed for 20 seconds.
  • Strange Territory: Tactical Tendency Level 6 available in Strange Territory skirmishes.
