Operator overview: Surtr

From Arknights Terra Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

An enigmatic Sarkaz who suffers from false memory syndrome due to her Oripathy, Surtr was taken into Rhodes Island from a town destroyed by a Catastrophe at the outskirt of Ursus. Her contradictory recollections prevent R.I. from uncovering Surtr's background and pinpointing her origins, but she is trying her best to remember her past through her fragmented memories. Regardless, Surtr proves to be a capable frontline combatant wielding a greatsword to lay waste upon her enemies.

But as she dives into her past memory, Surtr reveals some of the most contradictory truths she has ever found. She is technically a partial fragment of the namesake Feranmut who once waged a war against "Sami" (not the country) but was eventually lost and shattered. Both Surtr's blazing greatsword, her incapability to use any kind of Originium Arts, which in turn being replaced by the Feranmuts' pyrokinetic power, and her superb ability to suppress her Oripathy symptoms are such testimonies. However, "Surtr" the Feranmut possesses on the body of a Sarkaz girl as a tool to search for His remaining fragments. Surtr the Sarkaz knows that such will only revive the Feranmut who will bring a greater apocalypse onto Terra, but she faces no fear and dares to challenge the very possessor inside her body. She is really someone who should not be treated lightly.

Introduction

Surtr is a 6★ Arts Fighter Guard who specializes in DPS. As a Arts Fighter Guard, Surtr's attacks deal Arts damage, allowing her to dispatch enemies with high DEF but little/no RES such as Heavy Defenders with ease. She is notable for having the highest overall stats of all Arts Guards and like them, Surtr can only block one enemy, has above-average HP and ATK, average DEF and DP cost, and innate RES (10 base, 15 at Elite 2).

Talents

  1. Molten Flame causes Surtr's attacks to ignore some of the target's RES.
  2. Remnant Ash makes Surtr's HP cannot be reduced below 1 for a short time in the event she takes lethal damage, after which she will be forcibly retreated (despite appearing as if she had been knocked out in-game).[note 1]

Skills

  1. Laevatain has offensive SP recover, which massively increases the damage dealt by Surtr's attack when charged; should this attack managed to defeat/destroy the target, Surtr's SP will be fully restored.
  2. Molten Giant buffs Surtr's ATK, extends her range by an additional tile, and makes her attacks hit one additional target within range while active. If Surtr only attacks a single target while Molten Giant is active, the attack will deal more damage.
  3. Twilight fully restores Surtr's HP when activated and permanently increases her maximum HP by a whopping 5000, buffs her ATK even more than Molten Giant, extends her range by two additional tiles, and makes her attacks hit up to two (three at Specialization Level 3) additional targets within range, but Surtr will lose HP over time which starts out small but periodically increases up to 20% of her maximum HP every second after 60 seconds have passed.
    • Twilight has a very low SP cost, allowing it to be used in "helidrop" tactics, and with it, Surtr becomes a literal godlike Operator who will swiftly turn even the most durable enemies into nothing but ashes while withstanding greater punishment in earnest!
    • Because Twilight is permanent, death is all but certain for Surtr due to the HP loss unless if it can somehow be outhealed (such as by having at least 6 healers focusing on Surtr as seen in this video, although doing this is highly impractical).

Base skill

Guard Expert α speeds up the skill Specialization training of Guards by 30% while Surtr is assigned as the trainer in the Training Room. At Elite 2, Guard Expert α becomes Bladework Memory with a higher training speed boost of 60%.

Summary

Surtr is the ultimate Arts Fighter Guard whose melee Arts attacks can quickly turn every high-DEF, low-RES enemies who stands in her way into naught but cinders.

Notes

  1. There is a glitch that would prevent Surtr from being retreated when Remnant Ash expires, effectively making her invulnerable, which has been fixed on the Mansfield Break update in the Global server.
