Shangshu Trails feature Waregeist enemies from Invitation to Wine with some Biteys making a guest appearance, with the former being able to revert into true forms that must be attacked certain times to defeat and cannot be blocked, so pay close attention to avoid situations where the Waregeists' true forms slip past friendly units while they are busy engaging others.

  • Grindstones: Forming the majority of Waregeists, Grindstones move fast and compensates their lackluster stats by reverting into two Wooden Seals requiring two hits to defeat each, with the Objective: Medal Contracts buffing their HP and doubles the amount of Seals Grindstones revert into.
  • Blueflowers: With a ranged Arts attack and a charged special attack inflicting increasing Arts damage over time (which is provided by a Negative Status, therefore it can be rendered less effective by Status Resistance), Blueflowers hit quite hard especially with the Objective: Glaze Contracts which buffs their ATK and ASPD, and reverts into a Celadon Vase requiring twelve Arts or Pure attacks to defeat.
  • Sharpedge: Carrying four Broken Blades that buffs their ATK to high heavens so long as it has at least one Blade which is used up in each attack and reverting into four to one Iron Spearheads depending on the amount of Blades it has, requiring thirty attacks to defeat each, the Sharpedge is the most dangerous of Waregeist enemies in Shangshu Trails especially with the Objective: Military Tradition Contracts which buffs its already high stats further!
  • Clarities: With good defenses, melee Arts attack, and the ability to periodically make nearby enemies temporarily invisible, as well as reverting into a Bronze Lampstand requiring thirty-five attacks to defeat, Clarities can catch the player off-guard if they cannot be defeated fast enough, and be on the lookout for the Environment: Awesome Presence contracts which causes additional Clarities to show up.

When the operation starts, Roadblocks will be deployed on C5, D5, and F8, but be wary of the Environment: Gravel Cleanup Contracts which omits some of them and certain enemies who will move through the Roadblocks, clearing the path for others.
