A special tutorial operation in Maria Nearl, MN-TR-1, titled Mock Competition, gives an insight on the usage of Mieszko Coils featured in most MN operations as well as Sponsor Drones, the first "bonus enemy" outside Ceobe's Fungimist.

At first Scavenger and Vanilla will be deployed on B5 and C7, respectively facing up, as a Nameless Independent Knight and Training Gloompincer spawns. Whislash took over Dobermann's usual spot as the instructor this time and orders the Rhodes Island Operators to dispatch the enemy for now, after which Frostleaf is deployed on B7 facing up.

Once the aforementioned enemies are dealt with, a Sponsor Drone spawns on the upper-left corner of the map, followed by another shortly later with the rest of the enemies spawning then. Whislash explains that these drones carry supplies with them and instructs the R.I. Operators to shoot them down, with May being deployed in C9 facing left for this purpose and Perfumer following right after at D6 facing down to provide medical support.

The first Sponsor Drone is shot down by May, but the second managed to leave through the upper corner of the map; there's no need to worry, as Sponsor Drones never fly towards Protection Objectives and instead will "despawn" without causing any Life Point loss. Also, do note that the player now have two Mieszko Coils to use after the aforementioned Sponsor Drone is shot down; they will give various deployables when destroyed, which varies on the operation.

Whislash then instructs the player to deploy the newly acquired Mieszko Coils; do so by deploying them in C4 and D8, in any order. Once deployed, note that the Coils (with one already deployed in C6) generate electrical currents arcing between each other, causing enemies on the unoccupied tiles in their way to take Arts damage and be temporarily slowed. Remember to take advantage of the Mieszko Coils when possible to lessen the burden one's Operators have to bear.
