Character trivia: Jesselton Williams

  • His codename, JAK, likely stands for "jail killer", which is used to name his background music, "m_bat_jakiller".
  • Jesselton Williams was previously written as Jesselton Miller, but his surname has been very inconsistent in the game and in the story, notably the intro of MB-8 where he introduces himself as "Jesselton Miller." The same goes with the original Chinese text when he is called 杰斯顿·米勒.
    • In Global, an update synchronized his surname as "Miller" in his in-game info to fit the story's surname. However, the change seems to be ineffective and is only applied in the Global server. The CN, JP, and KR servers continue to call him Jesselton Williams. To make this confusion worse, in True Story, a part of To Be Continued, his surname is still "Williams" in the English text.
    • Another update in CN server on June 20, 2023 changed his lines in MB-8 where he introduced himself as "Jesselton Miller" back to Jesselton Williams likely to correct this confusing mistake. Nevertheless, the EN server still retains this mistake.
  • The Arknights community has been regarding Jesselton as one of the weakest bosses both in-game and in the story.
    • Similar with Crownslayer and Sal Viento Bishop Quintus, he lacks a decent amount of DEF and RES in the Jailer and Killer forms, respectively, making him easily defeated in the game.
    • The CN community took it further by making Jesselton a very boastful person, especially given his dialogue with Saria when he wondered whether she was "actually stronger than him", only to be swiftly defeated in many hilarious ways.
    • After To Be Continued, such mockery becomes even widespread across the Arknights community by depicting him a mere clown due to the revelation of his hypocritic nature in a Columbian comedy-like reality TV show. In CN, this is taken further by mocking him only knows how to wash the toilet, hence nicknaming him "Mr. Jesselton (Hanzi: 杰厕灵)," a pun from the toilet detergent brand Mr. Muscle.
  • Prior to an update, Jesselton was not immune to shift while transforming into the Killer form and it was possible to shift him outside the map with Weedy's Skill-Weedy3.png Liquid Nitrogen Cannon at Mastery 3 and the Industrial Water Cannon deployed ahead/behind her, making him impossible to be attacked except with Ambriel's Skill-Ambriel2.png Radar Sweep. This oversight returned in the rerun of Mansfield Break.
    • While being described as having infinite range, Fartooth with Skill-Fartooth3.png Feathershine Arrows cannot attack Jesselton in this state. That is because Fartooth does have a range limitation of 20 tiles, which most stages in the game do not reach. However, Goldenglow with Skill-Goldenglow3.png Crystalline Shine can.
    • In MB-8, if Jesselton is shifted outside the map while taking his first route, he will return later to follow his second route as if his first was finished. Doing so during Jesselton's second route, however, will force him to stay out of map permanently.
