Operator overview: Eunectes

Eunectes is a 6★ Duelist Defender who specializes in DPS, Survival, and Defense; the first two of which is very unusual for her class. What defines Eunectes as a Duelist Defender is that she can only block a single enemy unlike any other Defenders, but has a very high ATK to offset this and a range of the tile in front of her as with most melee Operators. However, Eunectes' DP cost is staggeringly high (33 at Elite 2) and she can only recover/restore SP while blocking enemies, making all but one of Eunectes' skills charged up at an achingly slow rate outside of combat.

Talents

  1. Peerless Bravery has two different effects depending on the current percentage of Eunectes' HP:
    • If Eunectes' HP is above 50%, Peerless Bravery makes her attacks deal more damage.
    • If Eunectes' HP is below 50%, Peerless Bravery applies Sanctuary on her.
  2. Resilience increases Eunectes' SP recovery rate while she is blocking enemies.

Skills

  1. Tomahawk passively buffs Eunectes' ATK and DEF.
    • Due to being passive, Tomahawk is the only one of Eunectes' skill that is unaffected by her trait.
  2. Menacing Slash buffs Eunectes' ATK and causes the enemy she is blocking to be Stunned until the skill expires, but increases her attack interval while active.
    • With Menacing Slash, Eunectes can easily take on strong enemies by "Stunlocking" them, leaving the poor foe helpless against her attacks, and can be used to great effect against Avengers and hard-hitting bosses (with an exception to those immune to Stun).
  3. Iron Will has Eunectes withdraw from the battlefield and call in the High Priest piloting the Raging Ironhide to take her place while active, which retains Eunectes' HP and has the same stats but with greatly buffed ATK and DEF, can block up to three enemies, and regenerates HP over time. When Iron Will expires, the High Priest/Raging Ironhide pulls out to allow Eunectes to return to the battlefield, who retains the walker's HP but will be Stunned for a short time upon returning.

Operator Modules

  1. The HES-X Module, Zumama's Tool Box, allows Eunectes to recover SP at 20% of the normal rate while not blocking enemies in addition to increasing her ATK and DEF (with the former being higher). Once upgraded, Resilience's SP recovery rate buff is increased.
    • Zumama's Tool Box is the better module for Eunectes as it helps mitigate her biggest flaw — extremely slow SP recovery.
  2. The HES-Y Module, "The Little Ugly Thing", allows Eunectes to restore SP from external sources while not blocking enemies and increases her ATK and DEF by 15% while she is blocking enemies, in addition to increasing Eunectes' ATK and DEF (with the latter being higher). Once upgraded, Peerless Bravery's damage buff and Sanctuary effect is increased.

Base skills

  1. Automation α increases Factory productivity by 5% for every Power Plant built (e.g. having three Power Plants increases productivity by 15%) but reduces the productivity boost of other Operators in the same Factory as Eunectes, except those with the Automation base skills as well (including Weedy's Bionic Seadragon), to 0 while Eunectes is assigned to one. At Elite 2, Automation α becomes Automation β with a higher productivity boost of 10%.
  2. I've Got This makes the Power Plant Lancet-2 is assigned to counted as two Power Plants while Eunectes is assigned to the Control Center.

Summary

Eunectes is an idiosyncratic but great introduction to the Duelist Defenders who, despite her eccentric kit, proves to be a solid Defender by combining the best aspects of Protector Defenders and Dreadnought Guards into one package which makes her excel for both offensive and defensive roles alike, particularly taking hard-hitting enemies head-on, although her trait might hold Eunectes back due to stalling her skill uptime.
