Ethan is a 4★ Ambusher Specialist who specializes in DPS and Crowd-Control, and is available in the Purchase Certificate Store since Heart of Surging Flame Part 3 for 150 Purchase Certificate.png Purchase Certificate with six copies available for the purpose of giving out Ethan's Token.png Ethan's Token in the next five purchases. As an Ambusher Specialist, Ethan has a block count of zero, which means he cannot block enemies on his own, innately has Negative Taunt, can dodge both Physical and Arts attacks 50% of the time, and his attacks hit all enemies within his range of the surrounding tiles with a 1-tile extension in front of him, but with high attack interval and above-average DP cost.

Talent

Entwined gives Ethan's attacks a 25% chance to Bind the target(s) for a short time.

Skills

  1. Fancy Maneuvers passively causes Ethan's attacks to inflict a debuff that periodically deals Arts damage to the target(s) for a short time.
  2. Suspended Cross buffs Ethan's ATK and increases Entwined's proc chance while active.

Operator Module

The AMB-X Module, Super Spray Paint Suit, reduces the movement speed of enemies within Ethan's range by 20% in addition to increasing his maximum HP and ATK. Once upgraded, Entwined's Bind duration is extended and its proc chance is increased at Stage 3.

  • Notably, the extended Bind duration now matches Ethan's attack interval, allowing him to permanently Bind enemies if the player is fortunate enough to have it proc in succession.

Base skills

  1. WRITER increases the recruitment tag refresh generation rate by 40% while Ethan is assigned to the Human Resources Office.
  2. Concealed Gourmet increases Ethan's morale recovery rate by 0.75 per hour while he is resting in a Dormitory.

Summary

Despite being a 4★, Ethan is one of the better Ambusher Specialists, using subterfuge to wreak havoc on enemy formations and halt their advance with no fear of retaliation from melee attackers, meaning Doctors intending to utilize him must plan carefully before deploying Ethan onto the frontlines. Now you see him... now you don't.
